Not to go too off-topic (but staying on the subject of current temperatures!) but a fever of 40.5° is usually considered life threatening, assuming that you have taken medication to try bring your temperature down but it has failed to do so. I'd urge you to call your GP immediately to discuss your condition and to get professional advice on your next steps.
