I've said all I'm going to say on it to be honest as disagreeing with folks here tends to get you labelled as a Putin apologist
Russia has first to respond to Finland and Sweden joining Nato
For now, Turkey and Hungary are ensuring they don't have to. Though there is nothing they can do regardless
They said the same about HiMars
They aren't stopping them joining nato
That does not answer the question. All you're saying is that it affects both sides and I agree, but do you think it affects one side more than the other or both equally?
$99
Definitely WTF!
You mean Russia or Turkey/Hungary?
Russia, no they can't do anything.
Hungary and Turkey are holding out on approving the membership applications. Last I heard/saw on it was Turkey were looking for more actions from Sweden in relation to Kurds
Yawn!
Febuary:
April:
November:
I cant see Swe/Fin not doing everything in their powers to sort the Kurds issues to help turkey feel safer about their alliance, what are Hungary going to hold out on though?
Actually it looks like Hungary have decided to approve the memberships
As to why they were blocking it, take your pick
Depending on the source you'll see some or all of the above listed as the reasons
Orban has already publicly stated he's and his government are approving Sweden and Finlands application to nato when his government reconvene in the new year,
More like it.
Because you are patently wrong, to the point of trolling.
I have a different opinion, get over it
While the Patriot System that is now in the pipeline for Ukraine is a welcome addition to Ukraine's defence folks need to be aware that one battery alone will have limited use. Its design is originally for military installation's defence and to provide support cover for ground units. One unit on its own would not protect Kyiv city in full. It is also very expensive. I do not see it being used to shoot down a 5,000-euro drone. The HIMARS will continue to do that. It is most likely there to discourage Russia from continuing to fire missiles at civilian targets.
Ukrainian President Zelenskyy has wanted the missile system to augment his country's air defences. U.S. officials have confirmed the agreement. However, experts caution that the system's effectiveness is limited.
I would much rather myself to see Jet Aircraft and long-range weapons provided.
Defence is one thing, but, offense is often the best line of defence. If Ukraine had the capacity to launch large-scale operations against Russian targets in the est of Ukraine then Russia would be too busy dealing with that to do much else. Without serious air support, any large-scale operations are not that easy.
It could be a new system they are testing giving Ukraine one for real filed testing. Could be anything from upgraded tracking software to new warheads or guidance tech.
That is one possibility all right.
HIMARS doesn't shoot down drones.
As for the Patriot system, it's one more air defence system to protect key infrastructure.
Nobody is suggesting that it will be used exclusively for taking down drones, but if 1 drone got through the various layers of air defence and the Patriot system was the last line of defence, then use it to take it down.
In light of the speculation that Iran is going to be supplying ballistic missiles, then I believe the Patriot system (depending on the version) would be the best to intercept it.
Ukraine is a large country, any cruise missiles fired from Russia have to cross a vast area. That area is now being populated with Gepards, stingers, hawks, Iris-T, NASAMS, SAMP/T and now Patriots. It's just another layer of defence.
I've lost count of how many fires I have reported. Here's another-
They are going to need more land based weapons in the new year. Patriot is welcomed of course, but Ukrainian Chief General Zaluzhnyi is expecting 200000+ Russian soldier led attack in early spring, possibly another move on Kyiv. He claims despite setbacks and such, the conscription in Russia has worked.
They need tanks, aircraft, more artillery.
Hungary to ratify NATO membership for Finland, Sweden early next year - PM Orban

@nigeldaniel HiMars aren't being used to shoot down drones,it's a long range artillery system not anti aircraft,
While the Patriot missles system isn't 100% perfect,it does come with a fairly powerful radar which can categorise multiple target's which could be in theory used to decide which systems engage what target's
No. It was a glitch which affected a number of countries. Norway's Prime Minister, for example, apparently had his account re-tagged as Nigerian. It has since been fixed.
But don't let that get in the way of a good bit of dramatics.
You would have thought if he lent that way getting rid of all pro Ukrainian accounts. I thought it was a glitch or possibly malicious we will never know.
I'd recommend watching C4 news on their player, amazing report on the fire and ambulance crews in a small town on the front line
Obviously DaCor is quite correct.
If a person wearing high altitude gear, and a naked person, are exposed to the same temperature, at the same time, and at the same location, then it affects them equally. Sure if the temp. is the same, it's the same.
In fact, if the naked person paints themselves matt black, they have a decided advantage as long as they keep their eyes shut.
Take out a strongly worded op-ed in the Russian Times Newspaper lol
The cold weather will affect both sides, both sides will have invested heavily in winter gear.
The problem for Russia is that some one at every stage will have scammed or defrauded the budget and even after all that many soldiers themselves will have sold their sub par gear for vodka, or food.
Ammo goes up, again-
