Even adding in those 53 (and they weren't all restricted breeds) there are still 1607 attacks unaccounted for.
Why don't you get onto every council and ask them. Instead of just going on and on trying to downplay attacks. It doesn't matter if it's human, dog or something else. The f*ucking dog attacked.
It's not me who wants to ban an entire breed on the back of little knowledge
And you don't want to ban or want to know the stats. . You don't even bother to look up the details ,just quote bits and poo poo it.
I doubt that a ban would be fully enforced but at least it would be there to make it harder to keep such dogs in the face of public opinion. Public opinion is against such dogs.
Farmers are against them too.
No they really aren't , but sadly no amount of stats or horrific attacks will change some posters views.
That's 53 from one county.
Farmer on the RTE 6 news talking about dogs getting the taste for blood now! Reporter seems to be in agreement.
Not that poster’s fault that the stats have obvious gaps
Incredible that people are dog owners and not aware about dogs getting a taste for blood, the immediate effect on them, the long lasting effect on them.
The difference between viewing a dog as a working animal, understanding it as animal and infantilizing them.
The difference between a dog in a hunt with the experience of blooding an animal is very noticeable.
Mad that something so obvious to all only a short time ago is now doubted.
That's a problem some people that own them don't really understand dogs.
And 89 for the whole country.
If there's an issue in one county maybe look at the reasons for that.
I asked you for some Irish stats as all I'd seen quoted were from different countries. Am I not allowed to query those stats?
To be honest the poster is not looking very hard or has selective blindness to details.
I gave you Irish states from the newspapers which are very easy to find on google, it''s not my fault if they are not all there hense the go to the council to get the numbers. I posted the stats for Waterford and wexford on the 5th which is over a week ago. On the 5th someone else asked you have you read the stats and you said you did on the 6th. You then went on to say to someome else that the stats are skewed, wrong because people can't id a pit bull. For the last day or so we have been discussing Irish stats, you brought in Cesar the dog whisperer as a shining example of whatever which was shot down in flames. Again you are trying your best to say the stats are of no relevance.
I'm pretty sure that councils and those providing the details are not just pulling the numbers from air. 1705 attacks including the attacks in Wexford. It's plain English in the article.
"Between 2016 and 2021, there were 4,009 attacks involving a range of breeds on livestock, dogs and humans reported to gardaí. This includes 1,705 attacks on humans, with the number of attacks rising each year."
And yes I am getting p*ssed off due to a bad dad and asking questions that that already has been answered is not helping.
I think the selective blindness might be yours.
I didn't ask what the stats were for Waterford and Wexford, I asked (another poster) how many of the 1,700 (human) dog attacks since 2016 were confirmed Pitfall attacks. You quoted an article where I could only find (at a stretch) 89 out of the 1,705 to be put down to Pitbulls.
You say the stats are easy to find and at the same time you say it's not your fault they are not all there, which is it?
If you're having a bad day and have no interest in answering questions then maybe don't reply to a question posed to someone else.
What an utterly bizarre line of argument
Just ban the **** things. We lose absolutely nothing and maybe a few kids don't get maimed
You have no interest in the stats.
You think it is ok if only some children are maimed by pitbulls. Ban the things.
Yeah they might get savaged by Labradors instead like these two cases in which a so called safe family breed was the culprit.

Restricting/banning breeds is grand in theory but if someone enters a persons house and attacked as what happens in a lot of cases regardless of the breed, the family/home owners dog attacks a visiting child, they don't get done for manslaughter, child endangerment, neglect or whatever though nor will the parents of the last 2 fatal dog attacks in this country from 2020 and 2021 as they should if you want a just society, yeah its horrible they lost kids but if you're going to call for the owners of dogs who have done nothing wrong to
If you think some banned drivers aren't still driving around you're very wrong, plenty are driving around.

Minister knows there is a list thats banned, news to me as the law itself calls it the RESTRICTED BREEDS LIST not the BANNED DOG BREED LIST.
It's important, particularly on the enforcement side, people need to control their dogs and they need to be aware of the dangers of some particular breeds.
^The first part of his quote too, the lack of enforcement and the authorities dropping the ball with regards a previous report of the very dog that attacked A.Mizan means they're not even bothered to do that in the first place.
As for the taste of blood myth.
https://samthedogtrainer.com/articles/does-a-dog-become-vicious-if-it-bites-and-tastes-blood/#:~:text=Police%20dogs%20regularly%20bite%20people,blood%20thing%20is%20a%20myth.
Now explain why every police dog in the world isn't attacking their handlers after taking down a suspect with most likely giving the suspect a bite drawing blood, or is it because they're just not Pitbulls 😂.
I have every interest in the Irish stats hence why I asked for them.
As the mother of 2 young kids I find it ridiculous that you would think ANYONE would find a child being almost killed by a dog ok.
My point all along has been you ban Pitbulls the children who might have been attacked by a Pitbull will just be attacked another breed because you haven't addressed the real reason for the attacks and that's bad dog ownersip. Banning individual breeds solves nothing other than to appease some short sighted people.
No that's horseshit. Look at the Americans stats and try claim that it is not partly the fault of the breed as well.
Even if you are correct that those children might have been attacked by another breed, you are ignoring the fact that pit bull attacks can cause a lot more damage due to their size, strength, and determination.
Being attacked by a pitbull versus being attacked by a shihtzu will have two different outcomes, regardless of the owner.
And ignore the Irish ones, they are a better reflection of Irish society and dog ownership in Ireland, the country where you are wanting to ban the breed.
I've already given many examples of other breeds that can do as much damage as a Pitbull and a Shihzu wasn't one of them
Ignore the Irish ones??? Are you for real? We dont have a breakdown. Most of the CCs haven't release stats by breed. Ireland is not the only country where I'd ban the breed. World wide ban.
Well then how can you call for a ban on a breed you don't even have the figures for.
World wide ban 🤣🤣🤣. Sure. Thats realistic 🤣🤣
Well, let's make a start with banning pitbulls.
Who on earth said it was realistic?
So you're just spouting pointless, unrealistic rubbish and you aren't looking for a realistic solution. Good to know.
What dog do you own yourself?
