When The Sun said it was coming home, I guess they meant Kane's football.
Well at least TAA got a nice rest for Liverpool can come back raring to go. How many other players did not get a chance
Kane looks distraught there. Actually kind of feel sorry for him.
Would need to see it again but I think they needed to make that one. Maguire looked to nearly in the clear for a shot
Wouldn't be called a tournament if it only starts at the semis lmao
Does it really matter? They probably preferred the goal kick
Surely that's the end of Southgate now
Mbappe was a ghost tonight, England the better side,
At least he has the right fella in Southgate to sympathise with him.
Yeah me too. Only chance in his career of a decent trophy gone.
Could do but I don't think so
I think he will get slated for taking Saka off. I didn’t get that one.
I wonder will Kane get the same level of personal abuse as Saka and Rashford got after the Euros final?
But he wasn't playing with a no. 10, didn't pick Mount either. Given the formation he was using the only guy Maddison could have come in for was Bellingham
England played well tbh. At least Kane wont get the abuse Saka and Rashford got after euros for missing penalties. He is too well regarded.
Without football.
Was Saka injured? Thought he was their best player.
And I thought Ronaldo's tears were the saltiest today.
Interesting observation. Slightly bitter flavour though. Maybe calm down a bit before lashing out.
What you said is wrong in relation to obsession seeing England lose is greater than seeing Ireland do anything. Completely wrong.
Regarding seeing England lose. I think it's normal for fans to have an old rival as such and enjoying see them lose. I know lots of English who love to see Germany lose. Maybe you are a different kinda fan of football, a minority if so.
It didn't make any sense, Ian Wright mentioned it - give Southgate the benefit of the doubt maybe he was injured or maybe he felt he owed Sterling something given recent events.
Whinging about the ref
Given two pens
How about some objectivity ITV ?
Not at all. I won’t lie and say I don’t have a giggle when England lose, but it’s not “massive”. And certainly not better than Ireland doing well. I think it’s the pride coming before the inevitable fall that’s so funny. And yeah, I know we’ll never come within an asses roar of winning anything.
edit. Just to add to that. Listening to Ian Wright after the game on ITV “ and we had Morocco in the semi final .....”. Thats the kind of thing that gets peoples backs up.
ah stop, Boards is not a representation of Ireland. Its a representation of the Irish people who love everybody else to hear their opinions.
I was sort of rooting for England there. The ref was sh*te and France definitely benefited more. This is actually one of the more likeable English teams and Southgate's humility clearly rubs off on his teams.
Why would England sack him, hes been their best manager since probably when they won it. Sacking him is sacking him for the sake of it, such is the fickle nature sport it will probably happen.
On paper the English team is stronger than the French team. A quarter final exit really isn't good enough, especially after past failures.
Southgate has to go after this.
I’m happy that France won, they were the more focused team. When the England team were more concerned about wearing an armband and taking the knee, it shows that they were not 100% committed to winning the World Cup, by contrast Lloris addressed the issue by making it clear that they were in Qatar to win and not virtue signal.
It won't be.
Wouldn't mind seeing England win only for the usual over the top crap that starts coming out of them once they start winning. They were definitely the match of France tonight and many referee decisions went against them. Will stick my neck out and say they gave France a harder time then France will get in their next match...
Have to laugh at ITV, missed opportunity that England won't play Morocco, the team that beat Spain and Belgium. They talk so much shite!!
First top team they meet they do the English and crumble
There has to be a scapegoat since it didn't come home. Southgate be the easiest.
