The thought of Romain Saiss, formerly a decent centre back at Wolves, lifting the World Cup is so utterly bizarre.
Deschamps, Cafu, Cannavaro, Casillas, Lahm, Lloris……Saiss.
But yet there’s a chance. Football is the greatest sport.
I'd love to see Morocco make the final, just for something different. It was great to have Croatia there in 2018 aswell, you'd get sick of the same 5/6 teams being there all the time
Morocco topped there group and have beaten Belguim, Spain & Portugal along the way and the only goal they have conceded was an OG they are deserving World Cup semi finalists.
Morocco must be the youngest team left in the competition, so much energy, they're like machines, while Portugal struggled to cope with the sheer exuberance of the young full of life Moroccan players.

I’m in Tenerife and watched the match in a bar with a load of Morrocans. The atmosphere was electric and they are absolutely delighted with the results. They drank water and coffee through it - I reckon there’s a fair few taxi drivers among them. They’re still driving around celebrating with flags and blowing car horns

In fairness not the first time money has talked outside the top European Leagues. American Soccer 1970’s and recent history, France PSG, Qatar, China etc.
Plus Ronaldo moving to a Saudi club is just another power play move which will likely lead to the Saudi’s win the WC bid 2030. As Qatar have set a precedent in this wonderfully run WC. Other big names will follow Ronaldo to Saudi Arabia.
This WC has been a massive success for Qatar and it is a WC that will live long in the memory due to the amount of football shocks, great football, fans mixing and meeting of cultures Worldwide.
A1 in the history of WC’s IMO and we have not even finished the Quarter Finals at the time of writing!

I loved that, no harm with a well run unfashionable country shutting up the big guns notions. Won money on it too backed Greece each way at start and had Portugal as well. Would love to see similar happening again Morocco/Croatia.

Has it not being an enjoyable WC despite all worldwide minority of naysayers? The arse never fell out of it. The opposite in fact. It has grown.
And I think it will now mean soccer will be really be expanded globally.
I know some posters think soccer begins and ends from lands end to John o’groats at best. And the EPL at worst. But that is not the reality of football worldwide.

I still think they’ll be beaten, but I’m not quite as sure now. England can win that midfield battle, no question about it. It just depends on whether that’s enough to swing the game in their favour, because we all know France are always lethal on the break.

i have an odd feeling that you have predicted the wrong winner every single time in this thread so far but then we all did the same.
Hopefully it’s not a cagey slow game and one side gets an early goal to liven it up.
