The litany of abuse in Ireland has been appalling. Thankfully my parents were super aware of its general existence so I escaped, but I know people who were raped in young childhood in every direction by parents, family friends, teachers, religious, and perpetrated by both sexes. One of those people is tragically deceased. 😰
