I'd say the original estimate was to give UKR the impression they had time to plan to disrupt it more, hitting it a second time is going to be far more challenging. Hopefully they can somehow put it out of operation again.

It should also be noted that its the road bridge that is reopening. The rail bridge won't be fully operational again until some time next year.
While the bridge was an impressive feat of engineering that I can appreciate, it also makes repairs very complex.
All Ukraine needs to do is a similar tactic to Russian missile strikes on the power grid, and simply wait until normal operations are resumed, then hit it again, thereby forcing the opponent to spend increasing time and resources to repair.

It's been no secret that the US were not giving Ukraine their longest range HIMARs, so I'm not sure why there's all this hullabaloo about the US "Secretly" geofencing their longer-range rockets.
We all know they only gave the shorter-range ones (M30/M31 GMLRS) on purpose, so as Ukraine wouldn't be tempted to strike the Russian mainland.
So, it's basically a couple of different ammunitions with different range capabilities, with one of them being a long range one clocked back to reflect the range or a bit more of the previously supplied ones.
No big conspiracy.
See below a screenshot from the Kyiv independent, dated 22nd July 22' - nearly 5 months ago, mentioning the 85km range of the M30/M31s, its also common knowledge that some HIMARS can range 400km Plus, Ukraine knew what they were getting and what they were not getting.
If the geofencing is true then there's absolutely no reason why Ukraine shouldn't be given ATACMS missiles. There's no fear of any escalation if said missiles cannot target outside of Ukraine. Same can be applied to cruise missiles etc...
I still think it's just a mod, software or hardware that makes the launcher unable to take or accept a ATACMS pod.

I don't believe that story. Using any kind of transponder is like putting on a camouflage suit while holding a placard saying "look at me I'm camouflaged". In any case, no matter how they pulled it off, fair play to them.
