New Munster chat thread folks. warning deserved there. https://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=109477571#post109477571
Anyone got a good read Patterson's boot? How are his box kicks?
yea, he is.... and he is way better than JGP under pressure...
so, would you stop?
Absolutely.
If Patterson had come through the Leinster system, he'd have breezed past JGP and McGrath.
JGP wasn't ahead of McGrath or even Reddan until Farrell started to select him for Ireland
For sure.
JGP's inability to displace an aging Reddan was a damning indictment. His lame excuse of still being in New Zealand until Reddan retired just makes it worse.
Oh dear oh dear.
Whatever, I don't keep up to date with the Journeymen Leinster scrum halves
That's OK, we're here to help!
Leinster journeyman Patterson isn't nearly as good as you think.
You're welcome.
I think he's a very good understudy to Casey who is Ireland's first choice 9 for the next decade
You're like that MAGA moron interviewed by Jordan Klepper who was going on about Obama in the White House on 9/11. In other words, moronic. Please stop being an embarrassment to Munster fans.
Had to go back to find this; conspicuously absent this weekend. ;)
So attention turns to Europe for the next two weekends. With two 5 pointers in our most recent URC games we've built some good momentum coming into this game, home games are must wins in Europe so this is a huge fixture for us.
The game is on RTE too which is handy for fans that can't get to the game.
I mean - attention * could * turn to Europe, or... and bear with me here, we could start the Munster Leinster build up thread early given how spicy the forum has been and really make the mods work for their bit of Christmas turkey?
@Interested Observer , @Former Former Former , you are both close to getting threadbans, this is the Munster thread. If you can't engage constructively, don't engage at all.
Patterson has really taken his chances this season. last year he didn't really get much game-time, he only arrived in January as cover for the 6 nations and because Cronin was injured, and then he got injured himself before half time in his 2nd game and needed surgery on his ankle.
Obviously the Munster Academy liked what they saw in training and he was signed for Munster on the back of that. Cronin unfortunately doesn't seem to be at the level required so Patterson was signed as 3rd cover for 9 but he seems to want to fight his way up the pecking order.
Leinster don't usually allow good players to leave, but sometimes they can slip through the net. Beirne is one of those players, Conway another, and now it looks like Paddy Patterson may be showing that he has what it takes to be an international level scrum half.
Too early to say whether Patterson has the consistency that you need to be a top player, and I think Casey's passing accuracy is better, as well as his leadership on the pitch. But a bit of healthy competition is no bad thing
I'm gonna get accused of arguing in bad faith again, aren't I...
He definitely seems a step up from other reserve 9's we've had over the last while like Hart, Cronin himself or Osborne (albeit he had serious injury issues).
He reminds me a bit of Alby Matthewson. Remember the rows he used to cause on here? They seem positively reserved compared some of the arguments lately.
Getting out in front of the accusations like that is a bit of a bad faith move to be honest...
Called it. ;)
I'm surprised that Patterson has gone this well. Fair play to him. He's turning out to being quiet good.
I want Patterson to get more game time because then there is the possibility that he gets MOTM. And that means we could get another post match interview like the one after the Boks A game. That was hilarious. At least a dozen **** given in that interview.
While somewhat funny I don't see that happening again. He wouldn't have need top of the pile for media training as he was hardly a bencher and certainly not a starter so chances of him ending up in front of a mic was slim and then along comes SA and he jumps straight in. I'd say he's got media training since then.
I'd say he's fcuking delighted with the media training.
I don't think one needs media training to know you can't drop a dozen f-bombs in a post match interview
Who is this Marray chap?
Well deserved spot on the BKT URC Team of the week from Round 9 for Jean Kleyn, due to his POTM performance against Edinburgh.
At the half-way mark and starting into the European Championship matches, this is perfect timing for him to be getting into form.
His interview was uplifting after the match, I think the squad as a whole are starting to perform and are coming in on the crest of a wave at the moment, very positive and great momentum building towards the Toulouse fixture on Sunday.
JK played the full 80 as well, fair play to the big man!
Murray is back in training.
Haley is expected to complete his RTPPs and be available for the weekend.
Zebo is out for a few week with a minor knee injury.
The MRSC Six Nations Tickets lotto is open for members. If all goes according to plan then the game V England could well be the game to be at.
Anyone else having issues buying Toulouse away tickets via the MRSC link, Stade site and the link in their email alert? Seems to be a tech issue at least for me at the moment.
Got sorted. Between the rwc site and this one French ticketing systems don't seem the best. Seems a fair few tickets sold already. Hopefully a big Munster group going over.
