De Bruyne was right.
To be honest not enough Ken on these World Cup pods, I know its late over there but they need to work something out to get him on more. To be honest there is too much of Murph. He is nearly getting as much air time as Ken and yet still talks over him
I'm presuming they'll have a Christmas books review out in the next week or two.
You're right. It would be better off with something quick from Ken after the match and then the lads get up early in the morning to talk to him at like 8.30 Qatar time.
Not watching that much of the WC, but find it hard to get into the pods the last week, not sure why.
If you've not been watching the world cup, then you're wasting your time with the Podcast at the moment (unless you're joking of course)
Maybe, but I don’t watch 5 mins of the premiership every week, but listen to all the football pods and enjoy them much more. Not sure why.
Great to hear Philippe Auclair this morning.
Himself, Vickery and Wilson are the holy trinity of football podcasts
I'd have Raphael Honigstein up there too.
Murphy's ramblings were off the chart today.
There was one point when he was discussing Mbappe and it seemed like he'd never shut up. Bloody egomanic's. We want to hear Philippe's views ffs.
I also love the lady the have on from Argentina every once in a blue moon.
She's amazing. She's on with Max Rushden every time Argentina play.
Marcela Mora y Araujo.
She's brilliant. Top drawer.
He is awful for that, when asking a question to a guest he could go on a ramble for 2 minutes and then get to the point of asking the actual question at the end.
There is a silver lining to a lack of Ken on the podcasts and that is much less of Miguel Delaney.
Agree with previous posters that the world cup pods seem a bit boring, can't put my finger on why...
I don't find them boring, but I think the reason some may is that the World Cup is about football only. (now that the other stuff has been discussed to death)
There are no manager spats / players going back to face old clubs / Sackings / Merseyside or Manchester etc derbies / Transfer rumours etc.
Basically, all of the stuff the lads normally spend most time on.
The World Cup is about 'that goal was good' / 'I think x will beat Y' / 'That player is not playing well' / 'That player is playing well'.
That's my take anyway (Bit like the Rugby chat just being about Rugby games and being boring)
Good point. Also the fact Ken isn't really traveling anywhere like in previous major tournament. His stories from his travels are what end up providing the most entertaining content.
I've one ticket for Fridays sold out football live show if anyone wants to take it at cost price.
Do we know if Ken will be back for the live shows?
I’ve two tickets to tomorrow night (Wednesday 7th) live show I can’t go at last minute. Face value obviously. Would be a pity to waste them in case anyone interested.
I'd add Sid Lowe in there as well. Always enjoy his take on Spanish matters. Would like him on for the Spanish World Cup exit aftermath tomorrow for instance :)
Ya that was difficult for all who had to listen to it. Philippe was so exhausted by it he didn't even offer a reply and Eoin hurriedly moved on to his next question.
The focus may revert back to the norm for the podcast later tonight because of Ronaldo being dropped! (I'm hoping it doesn't)
I feel that criticism of Murph is a bit harsh. Didn't Philippe ask their opinion on Mbappe?
He did but i guess the shakespearean-like soliloquy from Murph was more than anyone asked for
Some people in this thread appear to have a strange obsession with Murph
Obsession, haha. I just find him very annoying at times. And I'm far from the only one too it seems.
Unfortunately, they had Delaney on for the Spanish loss.
You called it!
