Was flicking through the channels last night for first time in ages and Christmas ads on every channel. Only time of the year that I don't try to avoid ads!!
Funnily enough haven't seen too many live this year, the Dunnes one probably the one I've caught most.
Same, they seem to show that one if you stream anything on RTE.
I don't like that Dunnes ad, I wish they'd retire it! Especially these days with the price of electricity. π
Their supporting ones this year with the shrunken bloke in an effort costume miss the target badly too.... poor stuff!
I just realised it is 10 years since John Lewis peaked with the classic Snowman Ad. I feel old.
And I'm pretty sure I remember hearing about it first on the 2012 version of this Boards thread.
You'd be amazed what you can learn and discover by hanging around in here.
I remember a few years ago I'd only pop in here from around the end of September to December and not bother for the rest of the year, nowadays unless boards goes belly up I'll be here all year, its my internet safe place, (& educational too!!)
Have to say the Bord Gais (lad working on Christmas day) and Vodafone (Dad heading into the 40ft) are pretty good i think.
I do like the Bord Gais one alright.
Funnily enough I wasn't a big fan of last year's super valu advert, but they're re-using it this year and I find it quite sweet... was a grower obviously.

Has anyone see the Coke truck ad yet this year?
No and still haven't seen Guinnes ad 'live'. Probably more due to the lack of TV I've lately.
I've seen both, but the Guinness one only once and the Coca Cola one twice. I record everything and jump through the ads, but at this time of year, I jump through the ads in 15 second intervals, so I can actually watch the ones I want!
I haven't seen the John Lewis one 'live' at all though. It's so long, it probably isn't on that often.

I saw the Guinness one live but no sign of the Coke one at all.
