There is an element of truth in what he said, take the area where Paul Quinn was savagely beaten to death, no one has been ever charged, an omerta absolutely exists as part of the culture of South Armagh and parts of Monaghan like Iniskeen or Hackballscross in Louth , a border area like Derrylin is unlikely to be all that different
You sound like Giles and Mary from Gogglebox!
Dukes' comments were crass and likely to alienate people from that part of the world. This man was a former cabinet minister and a grandee of a government party. Not acceptable.
He's retired know so probably doesn't give a f*ck, but he should really walk those utterances back. FG candidates from the region like Humphreys won't be thanking him for his performance.
Why would the wife be so bitter and twisted about the priest calling out the paymaster from the altar, unless the paymaster happened to be someone very close to her?
I response to the OP's original question - Donald Trump?
Back in the 1990s & noughties, many people took investment advice (incorrectly) from their bank manager. They were typically told to buy bank of Ireland or AIB shares. Despite the fact that a bank manager had a conflict of interest, many people did this. The bank manager was perceived as a safe pair of hands and prudent. Sure your money will be safe in the bank etc. In retrospect this was wrong and people suffered not least Gay Byrne. Though Gay was stung earlier in his career as well by Elio Molocco and lost a nice bit of cash with him as well.
The priest was used as a puppet by the directors to point the finger in one direction only.
That is indisputable.
I know it’s probably a stupid question to ask as a troll will never admit to it but are your opinions as you’ve stated on this thread genuinely true or are you trolling?
Probably the most impressive part of the episodes is the honesty of Dukes when he knows there’s a high possibility he could suffer the same fate as Kevin Lunney for what he’s saying.
Again I’m asking are your opinions here genuinely true? It’s completely baffling that there may be people outside of Quinn’s original circle of “friends” that don’t view him in complete disgust for what he done and his actions after getting caught out. The people from his own areas should be the most disgusted of all because surely it’s plain for everyone to see how he used and abused all around him for his own greed and has no shame for the consequences left behind him.
If you are being genuine then all I can say is you are more to be pitied than laughed at.
Exactly. Quinn and his antics certainly came out bad in this but Dukes continuous sneering and high horse attitude certainly hasn't done him or FG any favours.
Is there another direction he should have been pointing?
Would ye go away outta that.
The priest never named names. He was talking about the person or persons paying and arranging the criminal violent attacks on ordinary decent hard working people.
Nobody directed the priest to do anything. The priest just isn't as thick as some up there.
Really? Don't suppose you have any evidence of this indisputable claim?
What was it about the priest's reference to the paymaster that led you to conclude that he was pointing at Quinn?
I find the greatest indicator that a poster is either juvenile or perhaps not the brightest is when they accuse those they disagree with of "trolling" !
It doesn't take retrospect to know that this was wrong. There was lots of good information available on askaboutmoney in the noughties about the importance of diversification.
Dukes can make his aspersions about Quinn and his circle if he wishes, and they may well be founded. But he crossed the line when he made out Border counties people as a hill-tribe prone to acts of violence.
That was a commentary dripping with contempt also.
I'm not even from the place and can see it for what it is.
It's common knowledge who he was pointing at. If you were from the area you'd understand.
Alan Dukes about to expand on his views about the border population on Claire Byrne’s radio show
Because everyone in the area knows that Quinn was the paymaster?
I didn’t accuse, I asked the question. Although the maturity in your reply gives me a very clear answer.
It’s absolutely disputable
He was the PP for Kildallan and Tomregan.Kevin Lunneys Parish is Killesher and Kinawley. He was on holiday when this happened. They directors felt that the Priest in Kinawley hadn't been vocal enough ,when he returned he was approached and given a side of the story that pointed in one direction only.
And with that I'm out.
On the Lunney abduction (absoute heinous crime), is it credible to think that Sean was aware and in favor of this happening?
There was a large Q superimposed on the back of the altar whilst he delivered his sermon.
He pointed to "the paymaster". If the cap fits......
That’s hearsay of the highest order
Dukes gettin a bit of a rattle on the CB show
Quinn goes on about the lads stabbing him in the back. What was he expecting them to do in reality? They were more then likely paid employees who had no ownership or shareholdings in any of Quinns businesses and were relying on their jobs (well paid jobs no doubt) for income. Did he expect them to just walk away and follow him on his crusade or go in and hand the business back to him which they couldnt have done.
It's one thing appearing on tv 3 nights in a row displaying your arrogance and sneering contemp but to follow that up on live radio and copper fastening your ignorance is mind boggling!
Are we going full Q anon now? No Q visible in this video.
Maybe we should stick to facts , not gossip?
Tubridy?? He wouldn't punch his way out of a paper bag. Expect pre agreed non contentious type old yarn.
