Clerical Officer in the Civil Service 2022 | Civil Service - publicjobs.ie
This one should be 2023 and it's only for Dublin - there is no option for selecting your area
Scored in the 100’s for this competition … what do you guys think is a realistic guess for when I’ll be called to interview ? Currently also in the AO competition and placed early 300’s . Getting really tired of waiting around for an interview 😭
Sub 100's is fairly high, you would be called quickly I'd imagine.
Anyone take a guess at how many people applied for Dublin CO?
It said interviews start December 8th and they go in blocks of 50 so I would imagine December or early January for you. I am 190 and hoping I get called by February.
2,000 maybe 🤔
Lot more than that
How do you know they are taking blocks of 50? Seems to be very slow if they take it in them blocks
That’s how it was last year for the last competition I was in. I just received a message today saying my interview is December 14th and I am 190 OOM.
I just received an email saying I'm under consideration for An Garda Siochana. It states that I have to fill out the candidate form and Garda Vetting form. However, I have already completed and returned these forms weeks ago. My Garda Vetting is complete so I'm unsure why I would have to do it again. Has anyone else been asked to complete this twice?
AGS require more detailed garda vetting and takes longer to complete. The one you filled out may have only been a standard one. @seamus92
Hi
Any feed back on revenue? Read a few comments all seems to be good.
Does anybody know how long after reference is received does it take long to hear back please ☺
@Amsat OK. I was thinking that. Thanks for the help. Does anyone know what AGS are like to work for?
If you get placed in AGS just remember the government want it separate from the civil service so no transfers etc
@fritzelly ok thanks. Anything else I should know?
Heard from a few people who worked there and didn't like it, but someone else's mileage may vary
Depends on what department ya get. The job is very diff in stations to units or office in HQ.
Defo lots of variety task/duties wise.
Hi. My husband placed in the 400s. Is the interview hard to pass? Any ideas how long until he'll get offered an interview?
I am OOM 190 and got my interview for December 14th so hopefully he will be January/ February.
The interview is all competency based questions. They will ask for examples of times you went above and beyond for an employer and customer. A time you dealt with an angry customer and how you resolved it. Risks of sending emails. Time you used word/excel or mail merges. What departments are in the civil service. A lot of customer service questions. Leadership questions. Team building questions. Strengths and weaknesses. What do you know about the civil service and values of a civil servant. Difference between public and private sector. How you deal with pressure. Working on your own initiative.
These are mainly questions I was asked when I passed my interview this year. Two people are interviewing you over teams and one rep will be taking the notes of the conversation. They want you to pass and I found them very helpful and understanding of how nervous I was.
If you put the study in for the competencies you will pass. Use the Star method when answering . No point in just trying to wing it.
Did anyone else NOT receive their CO result? My family member didn't
For next year? Email them - are they sure the completed the questionnaire?
Never mind. It wasin spam😂
Passed interview on The 20/10/2022 and heard nothing since. Email and was told 5 to be place before me in Tipperary. Time is running out as panel is finished end of January.
I know people are starting in Revenue in Tipp in Jan so that will move you on for sure hopefully you will hear something soon then.
Excellent department to work for along with very good training from day one which is structured - a mix of online video classes given by the training department, 1 to 1 mentoring and self-learning (via virtual lessons). And then ongoing training / learning opportunities going forward.
*Again may vary between different divisions so I can only talk on behalf of certain divisions. But not too many bad comments floating about TBH.
Hi just wanted to ask does anyone know how long after reference check is it before you hear where you are going please
Thank you shmee , hopefully I will hear soon. Got email today new competition for TCO to be considered for permanent position in DSP. This I am told never happened before.
Sounds a bit desperate - the CO entry salary is so low, here's a tip guys - if you want to recruit and retain competent staff then increase it!
That’s a bit strange my manager asked for me to be kept and made permanent she was told “it doesn’t happen” and “you can’t be made permanent on a temporary panel”.
