yea no mention of details
Thought the EP was quite good. Although it was never going to be a revelation or breakaway success, it's really nice to hear Kirk do his own thing and show off his various influences. Makes me wonder how much the Load era was Kirk trying to exert his eclecticism over Metallica's sound before the band reverted to a straighter metal style on Death Magnetic onward.
Received the Walmart Coloured vinyl editions of Puppets and Load this morning, will go nicely alongside the Hardwired i already have
Have to order the rest now, when i got back into vinyl i promised myself i'd stop collecting Metallica stuff....that went well 😂
I'm guessing no one has heard Master of Puppets on Irish radio since it's surge up the charts?😂
Ryan tubridy said “8.5 mins well I won’t be playing that “
...ryan who....
Metallica didn’t fit his narrative
TBF, theyre never going to play 8.5 minute metal songs about drugs on RTE 1 at 9.30am
Surprising because that level of misery would be right up his alleyway
Nah, of course not. Dermot and Dave could potentially have played it tho maybe. Up to 24 on the irish charts.
Trying to think of the songs i've heard on mainstream radio here.... ES and NEM obviously. Kinda strangely i've heard Hero of the Day & Turn the Page more than once. Also fairly sure i've heard Sad but True and Wherever I May Roam at some point.
bring back the metal show!
Only took 36 years to release a video
In a heap this morning but played a Metallica acoustic set last night as part of a night for a deceased friend
set:
whisky
page
nothing
unforgiven
fade
sorry to hear about your mate, nice set
Their last show of 2022 in November, Kill 'Em All & Ride The Lightning stuff only.
Cliff. Would've been 60 this year. Died this day 36 years ago.
Wow
Was their any word of a new album and new tour? Felt a bit out of nowhere
Yeah really came out of nowhere, support is very good on paper
No irish date sadly and probably won't be. The 3Arena not suited too 'Metallicas in the round stages and stadiums busy around that time
New song is catchy, shades of KEA off it but tighter? No harm in a 3-4 minute tune either its something different for sure!
Not even a UK date let one an Irish one, fairly small "world tour" by their standards, maybe they are reigning it in a bit?
There is a really good article on them in the New Yorker this week. Its a long long read.
The Enduring Metal Genius of Metallica | The New Yorker
Really like it, very KEA cross with Load. Nice to get a short song for a change
Download been used as the only British Isles dates maybe
I'd imagine more dates will be announced in due time.
They've been doing it the last number of runs 6 weeks only with no back to back nights, they used to be one of the hardest working bands going. This is just more of it. Stay in the same location for 4 days on to the next they auld.
'hardest working band', when you age, have kids, struggle with long term mental health and addiction problems, long days on the road come to and end, or you ll end up completely fcuked or dead!
Assumed they auld might have covered such philosophy.
No Irish date though. Bah!! Liking that song. Will probably take a couple of listens......? The FAQ on their website says that there will be no more dates added.
That tour is a load of crap. A handful of dates in Europe and North America for the next two years.
Will try and get tickets for Amsterdam though :D
