Clerical Officer in the Civil Service 2022 | Civil Service - publicjobs.ie
Ha, same. They're watching.... In the 500s for Dublin. Best of luck.
Just got my results @raheny red
I haven’t either. I’ll let you know when I do.
Hi @ranierogrimaldi was it the Temporary Clerical Officer 2023 competition or the Clerical Officer 2023 (Location Dublin) you applied for? The results for the Temporary Clerical Officer were released last Monday, the results for Clerical Officer 2023 (Dublin) haven’t been released yet. Hope this helps.
I haven't received my OOM for CO 2023 yet.
Hi @ranierogrimaldi Did you get your OOM from the online assessments?
@Hotblack Desiato You're not wrong! Every single cent extra I got since making EO is gone due to the increased prices of everything, my CO pay definitely couldn't have covered it. I have less (if any!) disposable income now than when I started as CO.
@salonfire Yes, the benefit of working within the CS is the job security, nobody is denying that. However, the pay at CO level is barely enough to live on, especially starting out. Pitting the public sector against the private sector is an age old tactic to keep everyone down and it's simply facilitating the race to the bottom. Everyone is struggling right now and cutting back on spending through necessity, which could potentially put small businesses under, but that's not the fault of the CO who is barely making ends meet - and believe me, that 1-2% increase is going to do feck all to alleviate the situation.
As for the "shortened" work week - I notice nobody was shouting about this when the work week was increased with no additional pay. So, no, it's not shortened, it's reverted to what it used to be before everyone got screwed over to ensure banks and bond holders weren't held responsible for their own actions. It's disgraceful that anyone can be forced to work extra hours for no additional pay - private or public sector.
Good morning guys, I hope you are well. I have a question, I applied for the Clerical Officer 2023 role as soon as the positions opened however, I haven't received news. When during the year do applicants like me know they get selected for interviews? And how was the process for you guys who made it through?
Thanks in advance!
Anyone able to possibly help, I know increments are performance based now but if I am on maternity leave when my increments is due.... do I get it?
So.. am a while into my CO role for anyone who wants an insight. I was waaaay down the list of candidates.
I work for a small but important section of a very large dept in South Dublin.
Great people, paid weekly.
Hardly any work to do... as soon as work comes in it's done. That's fine by me as I'm just a newbie. Am picking up new skills and offering my help where appropriate.
Managers are realistic and easy to work with.
Starting WFH in January, couple days a week. Happy days, just worried that the days will drag in front of the laptop. Need a proper routine.
All in all a great CO job. I worked as a CO years ago and it was really stressful.
At the rate things are going, COs will be going to the CWO for assistance after they get paid, too
Thank you so much for getting back to me. I reached out to PAS and Justice HR to get an update. Fingers crossed!
Hey FYI, if you are ever stuck, the CWO in your local social welfare will help you while you are waiting on wages!
I take that to mean they will tell you if it's a no but not tell you why.

National Vetting Bureau (garda.ie)
You may have to request it.
It should be. In the Garda vetting FAQ it says: Does the applicant receive a copy of the disclosure? “The relevant organisation in accordance with the National Vetting Bureau Act shall, as soon as practicable, make available a copy of the vetting disclosure to the applicant”.
The vetting is not available to view by you
Did anyone receive a link to view their Garda vetting after its been viewed by the organisation? Is that link emailed to people or how does it work? My vetting has been viewed by the organisation but I don’t see anywhere I can access it…
Heard a rumour here that it will be 4 days a week in the office planned during 2023 - obviously not confirmed yet(DSP)
Also, just heard back from PAS to advise that they are still at OOM 60 for Tipperary, however they will extending the panel beyond the original January 2023 expiry date - no new closing date set as of yet
Wednesdaygirl I am Athlone that's great that you heard back garda vetting will take about 2 weeks so don't worry and then a couple of days after I was assigned someone to go through rest of checks reference and all that 👍
Nice one Onol! It's great to have got the call before Xmas. Are you going to Athlone also?
Just wondering my reference are being checked at the moment I was out for 5 months back in 2018 due to leg injury do you think this will affect my offer thanks 😊
Wednesdaygirl I was 140 just checking references at the moment.
Where I got placed there is no WFH allowed at all 🥺 I’m raging!
I was placed in the courts and started on the 7th. I had to do special clearance too but it only came back last week. It took maybe 4 weeks for me. I started before it even came back 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️
Just for anyone wondering about Westmeath....my OOM is 165 and just got emailed about clearance for a job
thanks so much for letting me know, I email them every few weeks, I’m sure I’m melting their heads. 😆😆
Heard nothing, not even a rumour.
Currently officially approved (WFH assessment / signed off by line manager etc) for one day per week in office for foreseeable subject to change - but can't see any changes happening in near future.
