interview with Jules in sunday Indo but paywalled. Anyone got Sindo?
Cork beo is probably the same?

Actually no, that's not the full interview. You can sign up for the free indo trial then cancel. I'm subscribed but it's too long to screen grab, sorry!!
The jist: she still stands by baileys innocence, her daughters never liked him (wonder why 🙄), he doesn't like killing things so couldn't have murdered Sophie, and is too messy to cover his tracks. Niamh Horan tries to push her on sensitive topics but she doesn't really bite.
Not much else tbh.
Jules seems to be quite upset at the way Netflix portrayed her kitchen and bathroom. They are not that messy apparently and there could not have been anything soaking in her bath. She says she knows Bailey too well and there is no way he could have hidden anything from her, bloody clothes etc. Yet she knew nothing about the Christmas bonfire.
They’re not particularly strong reasons really for thinking he’s innocent, are they?
For the record, I don’t think either way about Bailey- I’m as flummoxed as most people are- absolutely no surprise about the daughters thoughts about him- I do remember though shortly before he was kicked out of Jules gaff, that he tried to spin a story about the daughters upcoming nuptials in a way that made you think everything was fine between them - far from it as the daughter then made a comment that totally contradicted his view- he does like to proactively manage his public image I dare say.
Course she did, she knows exactly what he's like.
The way she spoke about her daughters being "frosty" towards him was appalling. The woman has zero protective maternal instincts.
Somethings very wrong there.
Sorry?? How on earth do you conclude that?
I had nothing to do with either thread being closed down. I think you'll find your friend SoulWriter, or "deleted user" as he's now known, was responsible for that.
I'm here for the discussion.
You just posted a photo from baileys diary.
No they aren't. The whole interview made her look more involved if anything.
I do feel sorry for what Jules has gone through. But they were a pair of dysfunctional alcoholic and at the end of the day, that coloured how they chose to live their lives.
The more interviews they do over time, the more apparent it all becomes. She can`t say he didn`t do it because she can`t account for his movements for several hours on the night of the murder. She can only say she believes he didn`t do it. If he did do it, he had ample opportunity to dispose of bloody clothes and footwear. She has publicly said he was a hoarder who never got rid of anything. Yet there can be little doubt there was a bonfire that Christmas and footwear and clothes were burned in it. It`s obvious she wasn`t aware of the Christmas fire. So the hoarder who never got rid of anything disposed of clothes and footwear and didn`t want his partner to know about it.
The one with the author who gave the files to a bunch of people, who passed them on to a bunch of people etc etc.
So yeah, the diaries likely are in the public domain.
Koude Kaas
is this the famous bonfire where he was supposed to burn his long black coat.........except it turned out the gaurds had the coat!
No. She's a blogger. Very good resource tho.
Bailey assaulted
https://www.irishexaminer.com/news/munster/arid-41019746.html
If that's the truth, then they should be charged.
Of course they should be charged...
Assault is assault.
Take the name Ian Bailey out of the headline, and what do you have?
''Man in his mid sixties assaulted by gang of youths''
I wonder if this can be of help on whatever is preserved from the scene?
'Forensic scientists can now use biosensors to analyze the minute traces of bodily fluids found in fingerprints to identify the suspect. Data that can be detected include age, medications, gender, and lifestyle. Biosensors can also be used on other bodily fluids found at a crime scene.'
But what evidence have they to test? There was a gate that's gone.
I thought that it was found again recently?
They found it and to be sure it stayed lost this time, destroyed it.
Hmm, that sounds like a conspiracy theory, anything to back it up?
Well my remark was made in an AH off the cuff manner...
But I would add it's already been established by GSOC that evidence was tampered with and destroyed, and charges would have been pressed had the officer in question not been deceased.
When GSOC were going through the evidence, the gate could not be found \ accounted for. It had been 'lost' by the Guards in charge in the case.
It subsequently emerged that... it had been destroyed by National Forensic Lab on basis it was of no further "evidential benefit" ... given the advances happening in forensics, for an unresolved case, this seems a highly dubious course of action to me.
I recall from either reading other thread or elsewhere, that gate and any other possessions offered back to family (as per protocol), and no response received, so disposed of.
This may be the current situation, not found..
You suggested that the Guards have destroyed the gate to hide something. Again, anything to back that up?
Yes they have destroyed / tampered with other evidence. So I consider it a possibility with any evidence not fully accounted for / available.
They are hiding something the only question is what.
So nothing then.
They were not thinking about what advances in forensics might occur in thirty years time . The gate was examined using the techniques they had available at the time (1996-7). Nothing evidential was discovered. The gate - being rather large - was taking up too much storage space so was disposed of which means either sold for scrap or smelted. It was never "lost".
They should have been thinking that way.
Ultimately it was not lost but it was "lost" by AGS. When GSOC conducted review of the case and evidence there was no record of what had happened to it ie they lost track of it.
