Dudley's
Pad that out with a couple more (Another GBB, Thomas house, even Delaney's in Smithfield has a decent tap line up) and that's the crafty 12 pubs sorted.
Can't wait for the imminent Rye River low abv sessionable lager 😜
Big news out of Celbridge...
The Big Romance - Bonobo - Fidelity - Underdog - Dudley's
A nice little day out there!
Care to map it out by any chance?
There's a grand aul walkable stretch of crafty locations from Drink Store in Stoneybatter to Underdog now, it's turning into a nice area of town, and not too far to Capel/Parliament Street either, and you could even stretch that walk right out to Dudley's on Thomas Street.
Can't wait for them to open next month. I was peaking inside a couple of weeks ago as they were doing the fit out.
Fidelity is the new bar on Queen Street.
They also have an option to add cans and bottles as well. They use Untappd but also rely on people tagging in anything new. I normally update it on a quiet Monday when I'm working.
That's a handy site. Thanks
I've added a few there. Matt Molloys has Scraggy on tap ( and Reel Deel and Mescan as well on tap, I think).
McGings has Little Fawn
The drink Irish tap tracker has a list.
McGings usually has a few craft on draught. It’s a really nice bar too
Nothing of note really as far as I'm aware but the Towers bar and restaurant down on the quays had a decent selection of Mescan on draft and several craft can options from the likes of White Hag and Hopfully
Off topic. But wondering if anyone knows anywhere decent for a craft beer or two in Westport? Heading there for a night next week. I assume places will have Mescan but wondering if there's anywhere with a bit of a range. Thanks.
...
C&C must be delighted. They already (allegedly) had a €100-keg deal with the LVA for the Five Lamps range, cashing in on a disaffection Dublin publicans had with Diageo in particular. And now they're disaffected with Heineken too? Cha-ching! More lines for our industrial fake-craft crap.
A few pubs that put up removed tap heads etc on social media posts have put up C&C taps replacing. So fake-craft all the way then.
I find it easier to find something to drink on a Heineken-locked lineup than a C&C one unfortuantely!
Don't know about kegs, but the off trade are up anyway compared to last year? Not too many €2.50 330ml/ €3 440ml around now?
I'd say a few are definitely considering it. Probably will wait until after Christmas though.
I'd imagine not putting up prices yet. But surely they can't keep absorbing the increased costs of grain, transport and utilities.
Enjoying the social media posts from craft breweries pointing out they're available, tasty, and not putting up their prices...
About time pubs other than Spoons called their bluff. Their product is unremarkable in the extreme.
Personally speaking, it would annoy me, but it wouldn't change my pinting habits all that much. A 50c pint increase is only going to be less than a fiver per week for me. I'd be more likely to suggest to the wife that we skip a restaurant dinner for something cheaper than suggest we stop going out for pints.
On RTE this morning it was reported as 50c increase in cost to the customer.
Somebody told me Heineken rolled back on the decision but I haven't seen that online anywhere
Seems to be a lot of sabre rattling from the pubs after Heienken announced they are putting up their wholesale pint price by 17c. Pubs arguing this will necessitate a 30c price increase for the customer. Have seen a few Twitter posts of pubs claiming they have already removed Heineken products but would be interesting to see if this actually happens in reality.
Bullhouse East taproom is about 20mins walk from Lanyon Place station. Nice place for a beer and they've a decent off licence section.
I might have a flying afternoon in Belfast later this month. Is there any off license worth stopping to pick up UK or other beers that don't find their way down here? Walking distance from train station. I know Boundary is up in Belfast, but that's about it and its probably a bit too far out.
Bonus points for specific breweries to look out for.
I can see an old thread where The Vineyard was recommended, but that was from 2014 so perhaps new players are in Belfast.
Pretty sure its Musgraves listed so most Centras and Supervalus can get it.
Even some of the SuperValus carry it. I know my local one does.
