Haven't been stopped going to the UK or back in about 4 trips, duty free onboard let me buy as much as I wanted too.
Well they would, it’s no skin off their nose
Agree with this. Guy in Dubai airport told use could buy/bring as much cigarettes & alcohol as we liked back into Ireland. Don't think that excuse would wash too well with the customs in Dublin airport.
I think he's trying to avoid customs rather than thinking of an excuse he knows he'll be over the limit
now 30.00 at Dunnes
I've never seen Black Barrel below €30
€28 in Tesco
LOL let see what Dunnes going to follow or not 😴
25.00 st SV this week - I've never seen below €26
Roe an Co 25 with loyalty card is a great price
Hi,
Travelling & want to bring a bottle of Irish whiskey as a present. What good deals are on atm please? Would like to keep it to under €40.
Cheers.
Black Barrel I'd say
You might do better in duty free.
Was thinking that but am flying through 3 airports (short stop in each) so would there be issues with having the bottles with me?
LOL the loop (AKA Dublin Airport)
Yes there would be issues at security checks.
Are you planning to pack the bottle in checked baggage?
Yes. Black barrel comes in a box, which is helpful. Then wrap in bubble wrap & put into a large zip bag, on the off chance that it breaks.
Redbreast €55 today in O'Briens
black barrel is €28 in Tesco
Redbreast is about €45 in the loop
€49 if travelling outside the EU - €64 inside EU
Thanks for the suggestions. Bought a few Black Barrel in Tesco last night.
Dunnes Whiskey
Method Madness Single Grain 35e
A new premium black label Paddys (Paddys Share 47%) for 32e down from 45e
To add... Dunnes have Black Bush down to €23.
Tesco etc don’t even seem to be stocking slabs of beer (carlsberg ) at all now
I saw in one branch where they were advertising the 15 packs as "mini slabs".
God loves a trier 🙂
Dunnes have Crested Ten for €23
Slabs were a good way to get value
MUP ruined that so now you can pick up smaller packs at rock bottom prices so no value in slabs anymore
Any specific locations - not showing online. I've tried few times in Charlestown and no whiskey deals there usually.
Anyone any tips for a booze run up the north? Best stores offers etc.
check this you might find deals https://www.trolley.co.uk
Yes check out the likes of Tesco, Sainsburys and ASDA websites for alcohol pricing, none of the independent places can better their offers. If coming from East side of the country your best going to Tesco & Sainsburys in Newry. Get yourself a Tesco Clubcard or scan of one of the barcodes in the NIRL Bargain Alerts thread, they have a large amount of alcohol deals requiring the Clubcard to avail of them, a ROI card will not work.
