The Putin bots and Kremlin supporters keep referring back to Iraq and various NATO interventions etc, but the Russian invasion of Ukraine has been far more deadly. Incredibly, it's already a much worse event for Russia than Vietnam was for the US.

Given their current intention of destroying Ukraine's energy infrastructure, I wonder what forms of sabotage they will commit before leaving.
Only problem with that is that Putin doesn't live like the average Russia. He lives like a very affluent westerner with access to doctors and medicines from all over the world.
The argument could be made that the damage was already done in his first 40yrs but he'd unfortunately have a life expectancy far higher than the average Russian if you leave illness to one side.
The stress of playing that game surely undermines the benefits. You'd be constantly waiting and wondering for the time when you would be taken out, either by your friends or your enemies.

Ukrainian losses are estimated around 100,000 dead and 300,000 injured. There is no longer any negotiated ending. Just capitulation or destruction. Ukraine is running on empty at this stage.

I would say it's more about American isolationism rather than their left/right.
