New Munster chat thread folks. warning deserved there. https://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=109477571#post109477571
Care to add anything further? BS comment.
This is hopeless stuff - a real indictment of Rowntree - he needs to shown the exit door asap
Woeful play by Munster to give Connacht that score .
The attacking play by Munster is 5% off, it's not far from clicking.
Awful awful stuff
Excellent break from Farrell.
But such a poor lack of awareness from Mike Haley. No idea there was a Connacht player begging for the intercept.
Lovely try. Made by Casey.
Is it just me, the way Horan is talking is like he has had a beer
Would like to see scrum and lineout improvement tonight, areas Connacht have gone well against us recently.
Hopefully a continuation of the improved cohesion in attack we saw vs SA as well, (albeit with a very different lineup)
Can't really judge it based on one match. The Toulouse game will be the real test of where everyone stands
Did Healy only commit to a one year contract? If so, seems to make sense to focus on developing Jack.
Not sure it does theve been rotating them since last season also. Id argue he should be in front of joey now but one team selection means little. Id not say kendellans in front of coombes either
It seems pretty much confirmed that Crowley is in front of Healy now.
id imagine it will be a massively popular concert, i hope munster worked a good price for it cause itll be a sell out. (why i dunno, hes an own-brand hozier at best but people seem to like him for some reason)
id like to see more rotation there too but in fairness haley has been fantastic at times, i think he should have more than one ireland cap but id imagine hes very far down the pecking order now
he always looks drained...
Beirne looked pretty drained against Australia.
Maybe the idea is to spare key players the trip to Edinburgh ahead of Toulouse, give them a rest then.
If Edwin Edogbo can handle a SA A pack, he can handle a Connacht pack.
Give Beirne a break! He looked shattered coming off against Australia.
Very surprised to see Beirne and very excited to see Frisch again.
As close to must-win as it gets.
Haley is a fine player. One of those that should have gotten a look in at Irish level if you ask me.
The context of the opposition is important though, SA XV were a bit of a rabble so it's hard for guys to really make a case for themselves based on that match while others were playing Australia. If Crowley was ahead of Healy a month ago, then that won't have changed.
Think you're being harsh on Haley tbh, he's usually one of Munster's best backs.
10 too, loads will be calling for Crowley even though hes not overtaken Carbery yet.
Dermot Kennedy has announced a gig in Thomond Park in July. Probably not a huge earner for Munster but better than lying idle.
Munster were on a hiding to nothing with whoever they named at 9&21 and it plays into the hands of those who want to be outraged.
Pretty harsh on Healy, he had a great game against SAXV and then he's dropped out of the squad completely. Is Mike Haley the only player in the squad immune to rotation? He seems to have stared every single game he has been available over the last few years. I really just don't see it with him, he looks like a good URC level fullback to me (and Andy Farrell seemingly) but Munster select him like he's Hugo Keenan. Playing either Joey or Corwley at 15 gives us an extra playmaker in what otherwise has looked like a flat backline and allows us to give gametime to all of Healy/Crowley/Joey.
No Fekitoa either is interesting.
Little bit surprised to see O'Mahony and Beirne both start, but it's definitely a strong looking pack.
Is Ben Healy's contract up at season end?
Team for Connacht. Front row from the SA game starting again. Coombes dropped.
Munster: Mike Haley; Calvin Nash, Antoine Frisch, Rory Scannell, Shane Daly; Joey Carbery, Craig Casey; Josh Wycherley, Diarmuid Barron, Roman Salanoa; Jean Kleyn, Tadhg Beirne; Peter O’Mahony (C), John Hodnett, Alex Kendellen.
Replacements: Niall Scannell, Jeremy Loughman, John Ryan, Edwin Edogbo, Jack O’Donoghue, Paddy Patterson, Jack Crowley, Gavin Coombes.
Heineken Cup refs for rounds 1 & 2 have been announced. We get Christophe Ridley for the Toulouse game and Ludovic Cayre for Northampton.
I'd say try ringing MRSC and purchase the additional ticket form them at the same time.
Got an email from mrsc, there's a lottery for Toulouse away at the moment until Thursday
Off topic but cant see where else to post this. Im a season ticket holder and cant attend the Connacht Game. i want to transfer to ticket to a friend. Purchase a ticket for his wife and get 2 free Junior tickets. Move seats so they can all sit togther. Is this possible and does anyone know the process to manage this through the MRSC account. Im got 2 different promo codes from the ticket office last week but neither work and seats are filling up now
The coaching intervention is a session around head contact. There was no head contact in Dupont's challenge, so the course doesn't apply to him.
