Morbid enough stuff, but curious all the same.
In my case it's mainly to find the aul fella. Look everyday. Bastard has nine lives though.
Am I alone here?
gee - v grim thread - big hug..
No because I'm not that sad
All right ;)
No, Jim.
First name William ????

all the same for when they were alive.
As there is already feedback in form of condolence messages, I imagine a Like button and star ratings would be popular.
You could search based on those criteria.
My parents hobby is reading the funeral directors Facebook notices. A few years ago I was watching the webcam funeral of my grandfather's sister and saw a girl who was in my year at school. It turns out she was my 2nd cousin and never knew it. That shows you how easy it would be to engage in a relationship with your 2nd cousin without knowing.
This is fucked up.
i just checked it now for the first times in an age.
there is a particular man, dead in the Dublin area, who according to his name, should not be there 😳😳😳😵💫
The same thing was done a good few years ago, when QR codes were relatively new.
My parents look at it regularly but I only have a look every couple of months. I'll hear about most people who've died anyway but this just fills in the blanks. I'm now at the age where my peers are starting to lose their parents which isn't a pleasant thought.
Identifying potential targets for burglary while the funeral is on or grave robbery? Or both?
I did a video course in how to use Python, BeautifulSoup & Selenium, which are main tools used to create web trawlers & bots, rip.ie was one of the sites I practised with 😂
Teach me your ways!
I wrote a bot to trawl for specific names 😱 which saves me looking them up.
An opportunity wasted if not
One last opportunity to rick roll people?
Great idea
QR code's now on headstones
QR coded gravestones to tell the stories of loved ones – The Irish Times
This is another version that is on a headstone dating from 1793 which is in the RC churchyard at Clondra, County Longford.
Stay Passenger
See where I be
As you are now
So once was I
And as I am
So shall you be
Prepare for death
And follow me
You do indeed.
There are a few in the UK, this one claims to be the leading one.
Also possibly useful for stalking and gold digging e.g. if used in conjunction with the estate values from the probate office that are published in the newspapers.
You, sir, are a genius! 😄
I check it multiple times per day - and even then I'm only a lightweight compared to some people in my home area who love ringing each other about who is dead/dying and to get a "scoop" before anything goes up on rip.ie
It is a useful site for genealogical research, pity it only goes back to 2006.
Whistling past the graveyard.
I'm going to go with a bit of Kriah in the hopes the prettier folk grieving start tearing off their clothes too 😉
Maybe we should all weep, wail and gnash our teeth?
Look you've put the FUN in funeral 😉 This is after hours and your post is very much in the tone of the sub-forum and the thread itself.
If the self anointed fun guard finds issue with that? Maybe AH isn't for her? 🤷♀️
It was Tongue in Cheek?! I'm not immune to knowing people who have died.
"Everyone has to take their turn sitting in the front row"
Fun? Someone's loved ones ...FUN?
I have alerts set up on the site. After my mother passed my dad went off travelling and asked me to let him know of anyone in the area who had died, and to attend the funeral in his stead if necessary.
