You can connect Naples to Rome very easily via a fast train, boats to Sardinia, Corsica and Sicily too. Happy with that route .
Would recommend Malta.
I also enjoyed Naples too, even with it's bad rep as a city. Alternatively, Naples is a great base for visiting the Amalfi Coast, Vesuvius/Pompeii, Sorrento etc.
Hi
Can anyone who has used EI 0111 SNN to JFK ( arr 16.05 jfk) recently advise how long approx it takes to disembark and get through baggage reclaim please? I will be taking that flight with family in Dec and trying to book transfer.
Thanks
marzic
I have used the 111 twice before COVID and it wasnt long at atll. 30-35 mins max id say. We were in a taxi to Manhatton very quickly. T5 is very user friendly. There seeks to be 3 gate areas/peirs and the SNN is flight goes to Gate 14 at the end of one pier. Its a straight walk down to the Baggage reclaim then. The DUB/SNN flights usually go to Belt 3 which is just inside the Baggage reclaim so its easy to find. T5 is very straight forward and easy and quick to navigate.
Hope that helps some bit i know this is a while back.
Another new FR route from Shannon - Porto twice weekly from March 26. Nice city break and leisure destination
I see Porto is one of 3 airports that does baggage transfer for Ryanair. Has anyone used this service, it could be useful for a few destinations
Highly recommend Porto for a city break. Beautiful city. Ideal for solo travel too
A few other adjustments I note are GRO and CFU only running in peak months June-Oct.
FUE up to 2pw and AGP to 3pw.
Great to see Naples and Porto but where is Bristol!!
Hope the Amsterdam route actually comes as well. KLM have SNN listed on there website for a while although nothing available to book and they dont serve SNN.
Think any hold up with Amsterdam coming through will be on the Amsterdam side. As bad as dublin was last summer the airportnin amsterdam was a lot worse. That could be out of shannons control for now.
Airport seriously needs better UK connections. Cardiff or bristrol badly needed
They are increasing flights from AMS-UK from the end of March so hopefully something comes
Simon Coveney highlighted the competition difficulties that might exist on Clare FM but suggested there may be another vehicle. Its very important looking at the rest of the network
Just listened to that and he was talking about SNN-AMS and the PSO. I think it could get it without PSO and agreed with what he said on competition rules etc. PSO shouldnt be allowed for this.
Pretty quick TBH
When will Ryanair Nov 2023 flights into Shannon from the likes of Malaga, Majorca be announced?
Generally winter schedule starts to get released as the summer schedule begins, so end March onwards
Ryanair seem to have finally taken over Hangar 5.
They have. EI HEN a B737 MAX was the first in the hangar last week for maintenance. It switches with EI HEZ tonight. 3 737 have also been operating the SNN flights as 1 was in the hangar this week also.
Was talking to a friend back from Malta. 90% full. Said they were surprised with the numbers so close to christmas. Good to hear new routes still popular towards the end of the year. Cant beat the winter sun.
Good to hear- Have also heard of people using that route.
SNN also received 6.8 million in funding aswell today. Hopefully theres some funding to incentivise airlines other than FR.
Ryanair are starting a twice weekly SNN liverpool route from 26 March aswell. Credit SeanM1997 on Twitter
Hopefully someone does a SNN BRS/CWL route. That seems highly requested on social media at least
Friday and Sunday which should help numbers as people will use it for matches and weekend breaks. Definitely better than the days and times when they had this flight previously.
Think this is the 3rd time Ryanair have done SNN LPL. Hopefully third time lucky.
There are unreal flight times
Absolutely perfect for weekends away
More variety is always good. With Manchester going to daily this wasn't one I was expecting though.
LPL/MAN both operate from ORK and NOC well.
Better hope for this time round as flight times are way better.
Flight times are great for weekend breaks.
Interesting article although from 2016 on a Shannon Amsterdam route from AnnaAerohttps://www.anna.aero/2016/05/25/shannon-amsterdam-is-skyscanner-unserved-route-of-the-week/
Im not optimistic on a route coming but that article made for a good read. The data would have probably changed since.
Getting 87 weekly flights for Ryanair next summer with Shannon. 130 from Cork and 54 from Knock.
Ryanair promised 90 plus from Shannon and 60 plus from Knock so a small bit if not a lot to be announced yet.
