Opened at 7am.
I was their first customer 😃
SPITJACK
Been there yesterday for a graduation lunch. Good enough but not something extraordinary.
Any bargains?
In answer to my question.. Not today.
They plan on a hard launch in a few weeks with offers.
Yes, that’s right, they’re opening officially in December.
Even though Jam cafe in Killarney unfortunately closed, its still open in Manor. I had a coffee yesterday in the new Crepe cafe where Gloria jeans used to be downstairs. Very industrial style minimalistic looking cafe but actually looks well and they do a good Americano. I noticed the Asian street food counter upstairs (called Tuk Tuk) was also open (does curries/noodles etc) and a Ciao Pizza counter had an opening soon sign.
The main seating area upstairs is crying out for an upgrade. It still looks like Roches Stores staff canteen circa 2002!
Have you a link to this?
That would require planning permission and no application has been submitted as of right now.
I'm late to the chat but all I heard about Brudairs Bakery is that it was going to close after Christmas.
It might be due to retirement?
There's a nice few things organises for Christmas around the town...

No CH Santa parade this year AFAIK
Well done for taking all the positives from the article.
Yeah they announced they won't be involved this year and no Santas grotto in their store. Plenty more happening though, so I'm sure it will be lovely.
A new planning application has been lodged for development of 45 units in a mix of houses and apartments at Parknadoon, Oakpark Road. This might be of interest to a wider audience, so here's the direct link to the planning file. In case the link doesn't work the file number is 22/1119 and it can be found through the file search funktion of the Kerry County Council planning database. There was an older proposal to built within this area from around 2008 I think, but that went nowhere at the time. It will be an interesting one to follow this time.
Edited the first link. Not sure why that doesn't work...
Badly needed, hope it gets approved without delay.
I wasnt trying to be negative, just thought it worth noting that what was an institution in Tralee for many years was gone.
Absolutely but to be fair there seems to be a decent amount on over the next few weeks to make up for it.
I personally never really thought about it until it stopped but the parade was 100% funded and organised by CH privately for the benefit of the whole town. I don’t think they got the recognition that they should have for what they brought to the town over the last number of years.
They really deserve some credit for that.

You have posted in the Listowel thread also. Please only post in one thread. Thanks. Mod
Today, Kerry were awarded their licence for the League of Ireland. It's great news and hopefully the people of Kerry can get behind them as its a good boost for the county and Tralee.
Local hotels and B&B's should do great trade out of it - certainly, you'd imagine the fans from Athlone, Longford, Wexford and Donegal would have to make weekends out of their visits.
And when we were talking about O'Donnell's before - not sure what the situation is there, but you'd hope they'd be in a position to re-open by February.
I read that the company who are opening Spitjack in the small square by the Ashe hotel need to do an archaeological dig at the property!

Anyone know what the sheds that have been placed in Boherbee (next to Dom ODonnells) & down Bridge street (outside Caballs) are for? there may be more, but they are the only 2 I saw today. I am assuming its something to do with Christmas, but what?
Its ok, found out what the sheds are for!
Has anyone got any kids in Mounthawk who could fill me in on the school.
Trying to make a decision on which school to send my kid to.
Is there anywhere in Tralee where I could print some documents and preferably this weekend.
Probably not until Monday, I doubt anywhere will be open to do it on a Sunday. Radley's your best bet Monday morning.
