Seeing as Elton has now rescheduled his Dublin gigs, might be useful to start a 2023 thread as others might start popping up.
The Commitments - 7th - 19th February (Olympia Theatre)
Elton John - 28th/29th March (3Arena)
Kids are keen to come, anyone know how young would be ok for this one? 7 and 12 year old. I'm guessing 12 is fine as policy is under 16s ok with adult. 7 year old is desperate to get to one and everything we've been to so far post covid was over 14s indoor gigs.
He played totally solo, which probably surprised many, but not me. I had no sound issues, and thought it was a great gig. But i get it, to an extent, its hard to carry the whole crowd, at a gig, when you are totally on your own, with 5,000 in front of you. In addition, i also got the feeling, the crowd were very unfamiliar with his latest album at the time. And the usual, crowd segment, that only know Cannonball , Blowers Daughter & Volcano.
Opera House ‘19 was a very different gig, he had support musicians, some new material, a better gig.
M83 playing here in June
Where did you see that? I cannot see anything on the net. Couple of nights agoI was listening to Wait, and had a quick look online to see if they have any gigs coming up, but it said "nothing near you".
I hope it's true. Would love to see them.
I saw young enough children up at the gorillaz gig there a few years back, can't imagine there would be an issue.
Ron Sexsmith doing an Irish tour in late April/early May. https://twitter.com/RonSexsmith/status/1594717803734790145?t=hnqZLFRWIeWcXpn-iMuTdw&s=19
Not strictly a gig but might be of interest to Damien Dempsey fans especially if anyone missed out on getting tickets for his Vicar Street gigs next month. There's a play on his life the Abbey in Jan and Feb. By same playwright who did the play with Dylan songs. https://twitter.com/AbbeyTheatre/status/1595032368787722241?t=UQ00DrGTtm6wPDUe5V9oXQ&s=19

So good last time
Anyone any ideas whats going to be in Croke Park next year?
Beyonce for 2 nights
very possible
The weeknd maybe if he brings a tour too Europe. Actually wouldn't be bad
My bank account is in tears esp a lot of announcements possibly incoming. Toutless may come in handy next year
The Weeknd is not big enough for Croker. There's really only a few acts big enough for it. A Beyonce/Weeknd double bill would be something mind...
Where did you see this?? That would be an absolute dream gig for me. Please let it be true.
A good possibility alright, euro tour announcement coming, and they are likely to be very saucy. Could she play Slane maybe ?
i was thinking Coldplay, as another possibility for Croke Park
Doubt there will a second Slane tbh
Indie have an announcement tomorrow morning, wouldn't be surprised to see Sigrid announced as headliner.
Dean Wareham performing Galaxie 500 in Whelans, Sunday 19th March. Tickets out Friday: https://selectivememory.ie/dean-wareham/
Very happy with this. Also, it's the night after The Comet Is Coming. Quality weekend 😎
Selective Memory is a good mailing list to be on.
Haven't heard that name in a long time! He had some good songs
Inhaler, Anne Marie, Raye and Ryan Mack announced.
I see they have announced dates in Latvia and Lithuania for June 7th and 8th, with another date in Prague.
Longitude announced the dates for next year. Expect initial line up announcement in the next few days
Travis Scott is likely headliner
Where did you see that M83 are playing here next year? I still haven't seen it.
Never said that an m83 show was announced just that he is playing here in June
Guess Forbidden Fruit should announce soon too. Miss when they had acts like Beirut, War on Drugs, Bon Iver etc. Think there's a gap in the market for day festival with few acts like All Points East in London but maybe don't have the population compared to London for the demand.
demographic of forbidden fruit is 20-30. It’s programming has shifted to the tastes of that age group so it’s moved to be mainly an electronic music festival with some hip hop.
Ok. how do you know he is play here in June?
