It doesnt seem to permanently fix it, just allows the screen to show the percentage accurately (ie change from 0% remaining to show 6%). But next time you go that low, it needs to be done again.
Yes, I'd be one. 5-10% of the trade in price is enough to pay for the convenience. These are luxury (priced) cars, no one needs a 60k EV, so I'm happy to pay a bit for the ease of not having to deal with selling my own car. Same as no one needs to stay in a penthouse suite in a hotel, or fly 1st class etc. You pay more for convenience/luxuries.
Ooooh - off topic in tesla forum, but did you do anything to trigger that update? I've got 2.4, but still waiting for 3.0
Just....NO.
Was that you in the bus earlier?
Back on Model Y, some notable improvements detailed here;

STOP feeding!🤣
And the best thing is you keep getting all of these updates 😁
+ unlike VW you don’t risk bricking your car when they roll one out

can happen to anyone…
Anyone see Neil Briscoes review of model y? Have deposit down them saw it, it's quite damning
Any Link ?
This one from November last year? https://www.irishtimes.com/life-and-style/motors/car-reviews/our-test-drive-tesla-model-y-1.4741875
I think his main gripe is ride quality, from what we all hear that will be resolved for any Y's on order. And the other is 'self driving' and I don't think anyone would expect that in Ireland. Plus there have been hundreds of great reviews so unless its something other than ride quality and old lads not being able to use a touch screen - Im not worried :)
It’s very hard to listen to Irish reviewers on any car as they tend to follow the herd on comments.
I’ll look at it later but also bear in mind he has tested the older MY, not the new one with new suspension.

Would anyone have a rough idea of what trade in values Tesla are giving for ID 4?
Every single reviewer in Britain and Ireland who test drove that Dutch reg Model Y last year had the same conclusion: it was a good car but the suspension was too harsh. That car had the 20" wheels and the old harsh suspension. We are all now getting 19" wheels (for the RWD cars) and much improved "comfort suspension"
And before anyone else says "but I went to test drive it myself yesterday and it is still very harsh", there are no cars in the country yet with "comfort suspension". If you want a review, have a look at say Bjørn Nyland's review of one of the first cars coming from Germany that had the comfort suspension and that was a performance model, with the bigger wheels! From about 3:00 in he talks about the suspension:
ALL Model Y now made today worldwide have comfort suspension
Im also interested in this, however I think full details on what the trade in was are needed to compare. My 221 204hp basic ID4 (By Feb time will have about 28k kms) white with black roof as only extra im really hoping not less than 45k and perhaps a bit more (Going for 54k now new)
Bought in March 22
Plan A) The VW dealer I purchased have indicated they will purchase back but would not give me a figure until that time
Plan B) Private sale
Plan C) Pull the plug on the Model Y and stick with what I have
I didn't even try Tesla trade in
Indeed. Have a fairly highly specced Tech with 7,000 on the clock and worried about the hit Tesla will put on it with trade in. If they offered €45k they can go and …. Selves
Would you try the VW dealer 1st? what are they going for new now?
I haven’t thought about dealer buy back. New I think close to €70k
Less than what VW would give you and less than what you can sell privately. No different to any other dealer unfortunately.
The best option is always to sell private and buy next car with cash but for some they will trade in as they are not comfortable or don’t know how to sell privately.
It’s the same for all Other brands though.
BMW offered me €40k for my Model S towards my i4 order. Tesla gave me €57,609.
Sell private is the only way.
Good luck getting 45k off anyone in 3 months time for that.
Currently the cheapest for sale in the country is 48k (Double my milage and a year older)
Of course there is no guarantee, however im confident & I will and ill take a copy the receipt for you :)
Asking price and garage sale.. Don't get me wrong, I sincerely hope you do get what you need for it, just don't see these ridiculous prices holding up much longer.
agreed but I think its good indication, in normal times I would expect you would lose 10k on a 50k car after a year. But I suspect early next year will not be back to normality quite yet
Tesla offered me €40k for an 211 ID.4 first with 37km on the clock….
Prices are already closer to normal now. Major drop in the demand and not many buy this close to Christmas while hoping the new year brings a price drop as the cars are “a year older”.
Priced right, it will sell within a week so you just have to time it and price it right. Taxi market is also open to you as they can still get their substantial grant on second hand cars too if swapping to EV.
Will you go with that?
Nope
I think the Y is a decent car, but I’m not willing to take that much of a hit for trade in convenience, just my own opinion. Not really interested in selling privately for now.
If the cost to change was much closer then maybe, but I’m happy enough to stick with things for now.
Tesla offered me 28.5K on my ID3 first plus. September 2020. 24k kms.
Asking 40k on dealers forecourt.
Gonna sell privately in February
Makes sense, I've a bottom line too regards price difference. anywhere below that I won't go ahead. I guess that's the beauty of a Eur 250 deposit
