It does, and it's a nice location.
As I said upthread I'm fairly sure Albert and Kathleen Reynolds lived in a hotel apartment in their later years. Possibly somewhere like that.
Handy and safe too with all services laid on.
I just need the euromillions and to know if the decor can be changed and I'm in. 😁🤣
I wonder are there management charges? You have a 24 hr concierge, can have the hotel car collect you from the airport, a cleaner (?), access to the leisure facilities etc. It would be a bit rich to expect you pay an annual fee for this on top of the €1.2 mill.
What happens if the hotel goes bust?
They did indeed live in that very hotel.
I would 99.9999999 % guarantee there's a very hefty charge to go with the purchase price!!
Perfect place for a Facebook type company to buy and set their stateside execs up in when they are over.
all apartment complexes have a management charge
I know that, but this one is in a hotel. Any idea what they'd charge?
Shedloads!
€14,000, according to this article from 2021😮
Bloody hell!
It seems your food and room service, a hairdresser, concierge and the pool are included, but not cleaning.
Or having friends stay over...
...unless they are dont mind dishing out 300 quid per night...then there is plenty of room!
I don't think it includes food. You get access to room service but pay for what you order
Well the annual charge for a two bed apartment in the Howth Lodge apartments is over €5,500 a year. They have a 24/365 security man on the entrance gate and the smell of urine from the beach during the summer 🤤 so I'd guess the Ballsbridge one will be around that. A 100 sq m two bed penthouse in Clontarf with fantastic views of Dublin bay has an annual charge of €2,500 but this includes two car spaces and a big storage room in the basement.
Anyone what happens if the hotel goes bust? Say the building was subject to a change of use and you're left stranded in your ivory tower without a concierge to run around for you?
The management fees cover the cost of the concierge
Yes, but if the hotel ceased trading and the building was bought and not used as a hotel.
A worst case scenario.
You can double your €5,500, and add a bit for good luck!!
Not entirely sure what was going on here.

It needs a hell of alot of money spent on it - but it is 2 separate houses though for €165,000 which probably isnt too bad a price. Its unclear if the 2 properties are connected to each other or not - they look like they are attached in the photos.
Its an ugly property at the moment though - I wonder if the land the demolished building across the lane also belongs to the property.
There is a tax benefit to making these places open to the public
"“May traditionally kicks off the house-visiting season with many of Ireland’s great houses opening their doors from May 1st. More than 170 houses, gardens and buildings of interest welcome visitors for 60 days a year under the section 482 scheme that allows owners off set renovation and maintenance costs against income tax.”

The Roscrea address is misleading, it seems closer to Birr or Portumna.
There seem to be a lot of other dwellings around it, maybe all from one family?
I'd always be wary of buying a BidX property as many of them have been repossessed. You could get a brilliant deal just to end up not being able to do anything with the property due to angry family members/neighbours/supporters.
I wonder how much money KBC lost on this property? And before anyone jumps down my neck, I know the property below wasn't a BidX property, I'm just using it to show what can go wrong when a property is repossessed.
This is what you get .55 hectares;
For being out in the middle of bumfúck nowhere you end up kinda hemmed in ...
What do you guys think about this one?
Very modern design, I wonder will it date? I guess everything does. I love the ocean view from the bed but I think it reminds me more of a hotel than a home.

I'm not sure about flat roofs in Ireland. But I guess this is the east coast so its probably fine compared to somewhere like the northwest where I am
Lovely house but it has been on sale at that price for a long time
"A 5-bed house for 45k in Cavan? It must be grim...."
Yep.
I know pretty much anything can be renovated but it'd probably be cheaper to raze it to the ground and start again. You couldn't even burn that house it's so damp.
That Cavan house is only fit to be knocked.
I thought the same when I looked at the photos.
Its also on only a quarter of an acre - .27 acres - so good luck getting PP for a septic tank.
