If only there were some physical law that could explain such a phenomenon. 😁
I doubt it Its radar guided missile from what I can read.
Everything you fire into the sky will eventually fall to earth. People don't seem to get that.
The actual people fighting the actual war actually. Goes back to Soviet times.
I don't see any connection, and none of that seems relevant to letting Ukrainian inspectors have access to the missile crash site. US remote sensing has nothing whatsoever to do with a human looking at missile debris on site.
How would this missile have ended up in Poland, where was it fired from, and how did it make such a 180 turn to head into Poland
....
Sensible post.
And "Orcs", FFS. Who came up with that? This is actual war, not bloody Playstation.
Just now on sky news:
Zelenskyy has 'no doubt' missile that struck Poland 'was not Ukrainian'Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he has "no doubt" that the missile that caused an explosion in Poland "was not Ukrainian", the Interfax news agency reports.
ERM... thanks for the PM, but was only joking, but even if I wasn't I wouldn't have accepted 60m Ruble... Jeeze!
The US 101st Airborne are forward deployed in that region of Poland, securing the border with other NATO units. He probably wants to make sure nobody else gets killed inadvertently.
Besides the US are the ones with all the signal and satellite intelligence on this stuff, they are NATOs lead force and always have been.
Given they can have trouble getting radar lock on drones because they are too slow moving, I think a radar guided missile locking on to a tractor on the ground is a bit of a stretch
I really am struggling to understand why you were required to answer such a stupid question Gatling.
8 months into an invasion and someone asks who are the Ukrainians protecting themselves from. As someone earlier said "dribbling scutter onto a keyboard".
Now why would the president of Poland feel he first has to discuss with Washington, Ukraine's request to have access to the missile crash site? Seems a bit odd.
It's so obvious the FSB are messing up using brand new registrations to get their message out. They need to buy an existing, well respected profile like mine. Going cheap...
More banksy's?
He registered yesterday not this month. Pretty much exactly at the time word of the deaths in Poland.
Possible but I guess we have to take what the Poles are saying at face value for now.
Actually Russia have repeatedly fucked up and hit their own territory. It has happened numerous times in Belograd. Their anti air crews their could aptly be renamed the Boomerang squad.
That was only used to avoid confusion with Nazi Germany. Now that there's only one Nazi country in the world, it's safe to use 'Fatherland'.
I do know you have always had trouble understanding the issue with armies defending their populations Francis and defining them as collateral damage in conflicts. Be assured Ukraine and Poland will decide how to defend their own countries.
Re read what I actually wrote.
Doesn't appeal to Slavic misogyny
Russia is having a sex change? I thought 'Mother Russia' was the favoured term.
I dont know where I appeased Russia. But if it makes you happy to think I am somehow pro-Russian, sure, go ahead and run with that narrative in your head.
It is notable how cautious politicians have been today, and even if this had been an accidental Russian strike, I very much doubt anything would have changed. We will continue to supply arms, training and logistical support. Maybe air defences will be beefed up, but I suspect that the americans will remain cautious with the nature of what they are supplying. We are not directly in this war and we will not be and we shouldnt be. It is their fight, not ours
Don't kid yourself. Polish Rage (and there will be plenty) will be entirely focused on RuSSia.
P.S. How do dead people take comfort?
Unless the missile went for the tractor erroneously
My take on it is that this has fired a shot across the bows of the Russians. If NATO was that agitated about a missile landing in rural Poland and killing two people, one can imagine what the reaction would be if Russia caused a much more serious incident or detonated a small tactical nuclear weapon.
If nothing else, that pair of Poles who died were incredibly unlucky. Judging by the pictures of the area (and the aerial photo below) that place looks really rural.
If you randomly landed a missile anywhere in that general area you'd end up in a field, or even a shed, most of the time.
I'm way behind so this point may already have been made. Anyone with a pro Russian bent (not saying woody22 has/hasn't) thinking this will make NATO more cautious of supporting Ukraine are woefully misinformed. NATO might be saying, shur, it's all grand, no need for Article 4... but, don't forget Poland has had an airstrike against it and two citizens killed because of Russia's war (don't for a second think anyone sane blames anyone but Russia) and they will need appeasing to be kept in line. That appeasing will be guarantees for further support for Ukraine.
It looks like Zelensky received bad intel from either his own security people or from contacts in NATO. If there had been serious question marks hanging over the origin of the missile, he probably would have been a lot more guarded in his comments.
