Blur could be a potential Slane headliner with some good support, a 2nd Slane gig is expected for next year.

Would they be able to draw 80k these days? Know they played RDS and The Point as it was back in the day but think last time they were here it was Kilmainham so seems a big step up.
Maybe your right, but Blur are effectively viewed as a legacy act now, have not played here in what, must be 10 years. Solid string of albums, and very well know.
Essential to have a solid support bill, its doable, but in saying that, maybe 40,000 at Marlay Park, is more realistic. I would have though Malahide Castle, 20,000 ish, way too small for them.
I think you're overestimating the level of Blur fanbase. Kilmainham holds approx 12k/13k people, and there was no problem getting a ticket for it. And it is practically city centre. Malahide is almost 20kms from the city, and is horrible getting home from gigs there. There is no way they would sell out Malahide.

I got that a few times recently when I was trying for Peter Gabriel tickets, having never encountered it before. It offered me a puzzle to solve, in order to gain access. I thought it might have been to do with me being on the site a lot recently, given the plethora of shows I've been buying tickets for. It evidently thought I was a bot.

I think they could sell out 20k at Malahide at a push, if on a weekend night, or with some decent support, but certainly not 40k at Marley Park, and zero chance they'd be at Slane.

Hopefully they double up with the marquee in cork. Very few announcements on that front. I think we could predict the usual suspects, christy Moore, coronas etc. No sign of the 2 johnnies this year, they've been upgraded to Musgrave Park.
Expect Damien Dempsey for iveagh as per the annual tradition at this point
2nd gig added, clearly, there is a much bigger market for this podcast stuff than i thought.
Iveagh Gardens typically it's an Olympia sized act that can flog more tickets playing there on a summers day they have gotten area sized acts but it's usually combined with another stop here (Belsonic,Galway yolk or Marquee).
Yeah Christy already announced for Marquee. Aitch, Olly Murs and those 2 podcast gigs. Thought they'd have announced more by now alright though
And they're 49e plus fees so probably 55e. Mad price. Ticketmaster seem to be defaulting the lowest prices as collected tickets too even though there seems to be standard tickets still left. If someone wasn't very tech savvy it would be easy to be stung for extra 6e too. Seems snakey.
Have seen this before, its very sharp practice alright, a click or two from the default, saves punter €8.90, as collector tickets are €5.95 extra PLUS postage of collector ticket is an additional €2.95.
Not really. Acts only doing iveagh/trinity if they can easily sell out 2x vicar/olympia.
How are these things actually structured? Like if there was a q&a, meet and greet, special guests I'd understand, but are people paying 50 quid to sit in a tent listening to vogue Williams talk about who she was a **** to that week?
It's essentially a comedy gig, Joanne McNally is a very popular comedian, did an awful lot of nights in Vicar Street the past few years. No different to any other comedy gig, they stand on a stage and tell stories/jokes for a few hours.

I don't get this one either. It's one thing to hear them shiteing on, seems to be freeflowing and the few earlier ones I heard, were unstructured. But repetitive rehearsed content just defeats the whole podcast thing?
Ya well that's part of it as well and including bands who include venues in other cities outside Dublin. That's the nature of the no mid sized cap venue in Dublin.
Actually now you say it Vicar st is more comparable as isn't it Aiken who do the shows in Iveagh?
