I wonder if this was an attack done on purpose by Ukraine on Poland in order to get Russia blamed and get NATO more involved in the war...not a very good move and certainly will be a move that will cost Ukraine support.
No, Ukraine didn't attack one of it's biggest allies. 🙄
And IMHO, judging by the damage they caused, they weren't be air defense missiles. And even if they were they are not supposed to detonate at ground level.
Catch yourself on
It's still not good. Russia is firing missiles at Ukraine VERY close to the Polish border. Ukraine has a right to defend itself, and so it is still Russian's fault that two Polish people died.
It's a bit like a drunk driver speeding up after the police give chase and crashes killing pedestrians. It's not the police fault.
Poland would have been tracking all Russian cruise missiles across Ukraine as they came close to their border - if a russian origin missile transited that far to ultimately hit polish soil, they would know about it. The deescalation we have already seen in less than 24hrs points to a Ukrainian missile, most likely AA that missed its target.
S300s were introduced in the 80s, they are not capable to anywhere near as complex maneuvres as some of the newer cruise missiles. Its entirely likely that they simply lost it as it changed trajectory for impact and then proceeded into the unknown.
Christ, imagine Trump dealing with this. His presser would be a mess.
"Probably partisans" =/= No Ukrainian amphibious landings. And this tweet its not a solid evidence, which you always demand from others. I asked you yesterday, when do you think is the reasonable time for the Ukrainians to cross the Dnipro river? Spring? Summer? After they liberate Melitopol? Never?
I agree. I wonder will the likes of Vladimir Solovyov and his usual rogues gallery of pundits now cool off on their fantasizing about Russia taking out Western capitals ? When the media openly talks up cross-border conflict, an incident like last night could very quickly seal the Kremlin's fate, whether it was their fault or not. But it will be interesting in the days ahead to see how the Polish incident will be spun...
Catch yourself on.
Unlike the Russians, the Ukrainians aren't idiots and know that any missile fired into Polish territory would be easily identified within a very short period of time.
Occum's razor applies. Defensive AA missile misses target and impacts off course. Root cause for incident: Russia's invasion of Ukraine
In fantasy land maybe
Poland have said there is no evidence as to who fired the missile. The head of the Ukrainian millitary in Odessa, Serhiy Bratchuk, said the missile was of a type only the Horde has:
X-101 missiles, which are manufactured ONLY in Russia, fell on the territory of Poland - Serhiy Bratchuk said during the TV broadcast
That missile is a new tpe of stealth cruise missile and has only been fielded against Ukraine in the last few weeks. Of course, if he's wrong about identification of the missile type, then it's back to speculation, but Ukraine probably know more about identifying Horde made missiles from their forensic pieces than anyone at this stage.
Biden was far from certain and was simply commenting on the trajectory and likely point of origin but had it been fired from a plane over Belarus that would technically fit the characterisation of the trajectory. If the missile was a KH-101, that could also explain why the US is saying the trajectory doesn't indicate a Horde launch site, because this new missile type has low observability stealth characteristics, which might mean the USs capabilities for tracking it might not be as good as for other missiles, leading them to perhaps being mistaken as to it's point of origin.
Obviously they are pouring over their intelligence gathering data sets. If the missile is successfuly stealthy, it could be that these resources only picked it up when it was well into it's flight and over Ukraine, which would then indicate the point of origin as being in Ukraine.
A KH-101 cruise missile fell on Przewody, Polsat News correspondent in Ukraine Mateusz Lachowski unofficially established. - Today, among other things, these missiles were used to shell Ukraine, the journalist said on Polsat News. Experts assessed the missile after analysing photos of its debris.
- These are missiles with reduced detectability. The cruise missiles have been used repeatedly here on Ukrainian territory to fire on critical infrastructure. Today, among other things, these missiles were used to shell Ukraine," said Mateusz Lachowski, a correspondent for Polsat News.
Asked about the source of this information, he said there were two. One is a person from outside Ukraine and Poland, a lecturer who deals with the military and the other is a person connected with the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence.
Photos have appeared on social media comparing the remains of the missile from Plovdiv with the one that fell on the Kiev region on 31 October.

Yeah, and if nato find out that Ukrainians did this on purpose, they would put a full stop on all support. I don think so
God almighty, which persona are you from the front page - do you not get mixed up with your multiple identities?
Yesterday was a dark day for Ukrainian civilians & humanity in general who were again ruthlessly targeted by the Russian military machine. The Russian plan is clear - to destroy electricity supplies, heat and water for ordinary civilians. To force them to either live in miserable conditions or to increase the flood of refugees to Europe. It's an abominable tactic, one that all right thinking people will condemn out of hand. An act verging on genocide.
Into this dark day, it so happens a missile hits a rural part of the Polish border. Which immediately turns the news focus on this event and away from the outrageous destruction that Russia is implementing the very same day. How convenient.
Biden says not launched from Russia, nothing about it not being launched from Belarus. At the very least, what can the rest of the civilised world do now to stop these relentless attacks of Ukrainian infrastructure. If air defence systems can't be supplied or are inadequate, maybe it's time to implement the requested no fly zone. Warn Russia and let the consequences fall on them if they engage NATO resources. Put the ball in Russia's court, they already publicly state they are fighting NATO. Well let them decide if they really do want to engage with NATO.
So neither of them have any access to the actual missile or crash site or anything else, but are sure it was a KH-101?
The length some people here go to, to avoid admitting russia was not at fault - its astounding
+1
If the Ukrainians won't attack Russian civilian targets, it's hard to imagine them attacking Polish ones.
Ah, you get it wrong and so you shift focus to something else. Always the same tactic.
No Russian flag waving from me, I condemn that savage regime as much as anyone. Just saying, as I said last night: let's wait and see how this pans out. But the usual "death to the orcs!" brigade insisted no, definitely Russia did it based on the logic that they bomb schools in Ukraine.
Now even Poland are saying it was Ukraine, and an accident.
Decoy-
75 missiles we're shot down but more got through. I wonder when Russia will no longer be able to launch these 100+ missile strikes.
Does the lancet drone really need the 2nd circling drone for guidance, or did they just do that to make "epic" explosion videos set to russian rock bands?
I largely agree with you. Russia is at least indirectly responsible but it's still, in terms of repercussions, a very different thing to if they actually fired the missile
Fighter of Wagner Group who was killed on camera volunteered to be exchanged | Ukrainska Pravda
I already responded to this.
Ukraine would need to attack over land and make the position on the left bank untenable so the Russians would withdraw. So yes, freeing Melitopol would be a pre-condition.
Not a good look for Zelesnky.
I think the overhead drone locates the target then the Lancet is launched.
What’s not a good look?????
Sure they ran out of missiles ages ago...the lies from both sides In this war are off the scale.
Our media aren't much better with their "highly likely" "highly unlikely" "anonymous sources said"
Maybe the US should be forking these out to the Ukraine:
Or more specifically the Centurion C-RAM version
Polish president saying it too now. Story seems to be firming up...
