Yes, but if the hotel ceased trading and the building was bought and not used as a hotel.
A worst case scenario.
The management fees cover the cost of the concierge
Anyone what happens if the hotel goes bust? Say the building was subject to a change of use and you're left stranded in your ivory tower without a concierge to run around for you?
Well the annual charge for a two bed apartment in the Howth Lodge apartments is over €5,500 a year. They have a 24/365 security man on the entrance gate and the smell of urine from the beach during the summer 🤤 so I'd guess the Ballsbridge one will be around that. A 100 sq m two bed penthouse in Clontarf with fantastic views of Dublin bay has an annual charge of €2,500 but this includes two car spaces and a big storage room in the basement.
I don't think it includes food. You get access to room service but pay for what you order
Or having friends stay over...
...unless they are dont mind dishing out 300 quid per night...then there is plenty of room!
Bloody hell!
It seems your food and room service, a hairdresser, concierge and the pool are included, but not cleaning.
€14,000, according to this article from 2021😮
Shedloads!
I know that, but this one is in a hotel. Any idea what they'd charge?
all apartment complexes have a management charge
Perfect place for a Facebook type company to buy and set their stateside execs up in when they are over.
They did indeed live in that very hotel.
I would 99.9999999 % guarantee there's a very hefty charge to go with the purchase price!!
I wonder are there management charges? You have a 24 hr concierge, can have the hotel car collect you from the airport, a cleaner (?), access to the leisure facilities etc. It would be a bit rich to expect you pay an annual fee for this on top of the €1.2 mill.
What happens if the hotel goes bust?
It does, and it's a nice location.
As I said upthread I'm fairly sure Albert and Kathleen Reynolds lived in a hotel apartment in their later years. Possibly somewhere like that.
Handy and safe too with all services laid on.
I just need the euromillions and to know if the decor can be changed and I'm in. 😁🤣
Nah! All the spiders are in my house 😮
You'll have a cleaner to dust, relax.
As well as the dust, imagine the spiders that could be hiding in all that material! 😱
I like the idea of it. The decor would need to be ripped out and minimised but imagine living in a really nice hotel? Sounds great.
I'm guessing that it comes that way. Very very overdone and old-fashioned hotel furnishings.
All that dust catching material is all I can see 🤣!
If you could strip all that out, it's in a great location, and very handy for me to stay over now and then when I win the euromillions 🤣
The curtains and chair covers are absolutely hideous. I know I'm probably the worst person in Ireland to talk about fashion but is it really fashionable to have curtains that pile up in a heap on the ground? I think it looks shocking.
Fendi cushions on the bed. Probably about €1k each (if genuine).
God help us. I'd be nervous I'd spill something on them. Give me an easily replaceable cushion cover from Homestore or Harry Corry and I'd be much happier.
The way it's decorated, it looks to be aimed at a certain ethnic minority. 😁
It is a 1 bed apartment. It is clearly not aimed at families with children.
Perhaps, but Gay wasn't washing toddlers in the sink or hanging clothes on horses I don't think. :)
Albert Reynolds also, I think, lived in that kind of a setup - a hotel apartment in his later years.
A great find for the thread. I wonder if it comes decorated like that and you can't change anything. 😁
I think it is meant to be a home. Gay Byrne moved into something similar in ballsbridge when he sold his house in howth.
It's not supposed to be a home, probably a pier de terre to be used for a few days a year.
Its astonishing how much horribleness they have managed to squash into one apartment! Oversized beige and syntho-wood furniture, and ready installed clutter. You get two rows of imitation books, a shipping order of glass table lamps and chairs with hoodies, not to mention the naff plants everywhere.
Is breakfast included?
That would be a deal breaker for me.
