Fired from russia means nothing. They are in Ukraine.
If it was fired from Belarus it would give weight to heavy sanctions.

Yeah, it makes sense for Ukraine to launch missiles at one of their biggest backers. Especially when the likelihood of them being found out is huge.
A report on the BBC suggests it was a missile fired from the UKR side trying to intercept a Russian missile:
The Associated Press news agency is quoting three US officials as saying a preliminary assessment suggests the missile that hit Poland was fired by Ukrainian forces at an incoming Russian missile.

A lot of people were very quick to post their "expert" assessment of this last night, with most saying deliberate Russian attack. I counselled waiting till the dust settled and with good reason.... Seems increasingly like it was an accident and possibly from the Ukrainian side...
Putin is not beyond testing NATO /Ukraine.and ‘poking ‘it to see what is the response. Look at the international response when Ru invaded and captured Crimea. Putins only problem with his Ukr invasion is that he ‘bit off too much’ and he attacked the wrong point at the beginning - all from his perspective of course and based on his ‘success’ in an anaxxing of Crimea.

I was right but it seemed obvious given the mood music last night they thought this wasn't a Russian launched missile that hit Poland.

This news in no way absolves Russia from the blame.
And it also shows NATO are ready if Russia does decide to get braver.
It shows how deathly afraid russia are of encroaching on NATO.
It also gives NATO an excuse to cover the Ukrainian skies and russia won't be able to argue otherwise (with a straight face anyway).
There are three sources as to where the middle/s came from as three countries are/have fired projectiles during the current war. Why three? Belarus has to be included simply because that’s where Putin launched his current war from. There is no reason as to why he would not carry out any action from Belarus. Lucaschenko might have a problem with this but he may not have any choice. After all a friend of his is being attacked
It does absolve them of unfounded claims they attacked a NATO country. Zelensky came out within a few minutes saying Russia attacked Poland.

With regards to Ukr shooting down any projectile - especially along the Ukr /Polish border , I asssome that the Ukranian army would be aware of where it’s missle would land if it missed the incoming projectile. So I would expect that all Ukr fire would be pointed away from Poland and not towards Poland
I think the Americans were impressive in their handling of this last night when everyone else was jumping to conclusions

Well, I always thought that incident in Poland needed more clarification. Now we have it. Pres Biden is a very experienced statesman and will always hold off until the correct facts are known. I think the world is very fortunate that it was Biden that won the Whitehouse and not a less experienced person who could easily have blundered and made it worse.
