Russia probably would have known early on that the missile hit Poland. If they were remorseful for it, it probably would be the wisest to cut the oil in the pipeline to Hungary.
Lots of incidents tend to happen with armed forces entering countries by accident, entering airspace etc. It's usually a "sorry about that lads, won't happen again". A Russian missile went into Poland (probably accidentally) and their response was to cut an oil pipeline. Strange reaction.
Lol of all the stupid things...
Yeah it's the Germans!!!! Lol.... Again...
Hopefully Ukraine permanently stops it
they've been training them to fly them already
So according to some Poland started WW2 ....
Russia strikes power facilities
Ukraine notifies Russia and Hungry that due to power issues, Russian oil supplies to Hungary will cease due to lack of power
You'd have to wonder if the Finn & Swede NATO applications will suddenly get green lit if the oil starts to flow to Russias only EU ally again
...
Putins friend will just blame Poland for not moving out of the Way of the missles
Doubt it .
Well at the very least, Poland would be well within their rights in future for their airforce to enter Ukraine airspace and shoot down any Russian missiles that come close to their border. Obviously it would need to be approved by Ukraine (don't want friendly fire)
It would not be an escalation.
I can't believe people are being so blasé about Russian missiles hitting Poland and killing Polish people. The fact that the missile landing on Polish soil may have been 'accidental' is irrelevant - the very firing of them at civilian targets inside Ukraine was already a war crime and a terrorist act.
I'm not suggesting there should be a serious escalation or anything btw. It's just that it's hard to see how Poland and NATO can just shrug their shoulders and go "Oh well, never mind" about the incident.
Poland are itching for a fight,
This could get very interesting very fast
In response to the stop in oil transfer through the Druzhba pipeline and the missile hitting territory of Poland, @PM_ViktorOrban has convened Hungaries's Defense Council for 8 p.m
Doesn't look like it is fragments of a missile, or a shot down missile that want onwards. There is a big crater and large farm equipment destroyed.
Poland
Poland -"time to trigger article 4 now and discuss article 5 triggering"
Agree. Won't be long before that's public if the case.
Given that the missiles were fired at civilian targets and not military ones, that defence would be an incredibly weak one. They're acting like terrorists at the moment.....talk of 'collateral damage' becomes an absurdity when they are trying to terrorise a civilian population.
‼️The Polish Air Force lifted fighters into the air from the airfield in Tomaszów-Lubelski, — Visegrad 24.
Just in case hobgoblin says 'unlikely', one more time.
A Polish reporter is saying it may have been a Russian missile intercepted by Ukrainian forces (maybe sending it off course?). Little information yet but you'd imagine all sorts of behind the scenes diplomacy going on right now.
If you let Russia off with that excuse they'll just continue using it
It doesn't have the capacity to subdue Ukraine. It isn't capable of escalation and if it goes nuclear then Russia gets turned to ash.
They're a terrorist state and have to be dealt with. Expel their military forces from Ukraine.
There's no way Russia did this intentionally, and I'd say they are **** themselves right now.
They knew full well even a limited response is going to have a huge impact on their already falling-apart-at-the-seams war.
Not difficult to believe. Russia is firing off alot of stuff in these barrages on Ukraine's cities/infrastructure (100s of missiles and drones). At least what is being reported (in media) is that they are increasingly mix of types with poorer accuracy + the Iranian drones (which are GPS-guided and should be accurate).
Seems quite possible for some of their shítty old Soviet era technology missiles to go off course and cause an incident if they are aiming at something close to Polish border (or for any missiles or drones to be hit and damaged by Ukraine's air defences + then land over the border).
Won't happen, especially if it turns out it was Russian rockets that had been hit by Ukrainian forces, they will say the missiles were knocked off their flight path and them landing in Poland was accidental.
Maybe. Poland (NATO) will definitely use it as an excuse to increase support/supplies
This seems like the most credible explanation?
A NATO strategist and expert is saying on Sky News is saying that the West may well feel compelled to respond in some way, 'even' if the missiles landing in Poland are supposedly an accident. He points out that that you can't fire over 100 cruise missiles at civilian targets in a single day (an obvious act of state terrorism) and then start claiming that any missiles landing in other countries is merely collateral damage.
Was watching an interesting video from a Military aviation guy who reckoned F16s wont work for Ukraine, too delicate for the rough conditions on the ground, he reckoned they really needed Gripens instead.
Incompetence
