I do know - I'd have first-hand-experience in it, at Intercounty Level, how their contracts work
You are being defensive btw. There does come a point when it's a forum that I/somebody else shouldn't be posting legit figures etc. as it's not info that should be posted publicly
I never asked you to publish figures legit or otherwise. Anyway to wrap it up you are saying/suggesting that cahill has a contract, bonner didn't have one just as you say an informal arrangement. Now if these "contracts " exist I would imagine Liam Sheedy certainly had one so why would bonner then not have one but they would resume having one with cahill. All very strange especially since you've never seen one .
You did ask me to publish figures. You asked me how much Shane McGrath was getting and how much Liam Cahill is getting
My assumption for Colm Bonnar's contract is that it had the usual yearly review, which is the easy 'get out' clause
Sorry - I actually can't keep responding on here. It's draining and I feel like if I saw someone else talking about this topic I'd start to resent them, so I don't want to do same. Feel free to PM if you want to chat more about them - I don't mind having the chat about them
Well, sure, that's his own choice. Lads are looking after their mental health these days. Probably had to move for work and didn't want to spend half his life driving bad roads after working all day. One of the most talented hurlers in Tipp was miserable coming up and down from Dublin to Tipp five nights a week and has decided it's not worth it. Have to respect Jerome and Shane's decisions.
Agreed - The 'there's more to life' mantra isn't easy to do for Intercounty Hurling, so it's impressive
You're safe enough callaway, it isn't you that is coming across badly!
Not all defeats are the same, . I happen to know a few who'd know the goings on in the dressing room and after a month, things were heading south. He had lost the dressing room and barring a win which looked possible during the Waterford game for a while , then the end was near . I think the performance, energy and fight in the team shows this . By the way, I was happy to see Bonnar get the job , so I was proved wrong also . But if Cahills teams go down fighting and show energy and a future, then I'd be happy enough considering where we're coming from . Hopefully we'll be better than good defeats. But if they start playing a continuous hand passing game like Waterford, then I'll be first to get the axe ready
Tony Browne has been appointed as a selector with Tipperary for 2023.
They also put up a good show against Limerick in Limerick and had there been any kind of decent support there who knows what might have happened. Liam Cahill was training a team that just about every pundit said was the second best team in Ireland and failed to get them out of munster! Now apparently we're led to believe that regardless of tipps results next year he's there to stay.
McGraths are a different breed.
Don't think anyone said he's guaranteed a second year but if he gets real progress and fight in tipp , then he'll get a second
Have we had outsider's involvement in senior hurling sideline before Tony
What would you regard as real progress?
Jaysus we get Tony Browne and they get Eoin Kelly, should be feisty next season.
Firstly there's no official contracts. There can't be or they'd have to pay tax and it would have yo be declared.
Cahills method of play will suit the squad but that same method has failed and failed again against Limerick and Waterford have better players than Tipperary right now. There's no power in his game plans..its all overlaps and break neck speed. Looks good until its stopped dead in its tracks ...then there's no plan B...like none
Michael Donohoe Galway manager was involved a few years back.
Point out where I said that he’ll stay no matter what?
Jesus - there are contracts
They get taxable income beyond the none taxable expenses
When you said that even if they lose all 4 games, if he can show progression of sorts, turnover rates, creating chances, etc, ....that's near enough saying his job is safe regardless.
What? No it isn’t - Come on, re-read the post and be genuine in your response
I implied that if he does lose all 4 games, he’d want to show genuine progression match-on-match and proof that there is a chance of improvement going beyond those 4 losses
...
RIP to Paddy Coen Junior and condolences to everyone at Kiladangan GAA.
Death Notice of Patrick Coen (junior) (rip.ie)
I see Eamon O'Shea is taking over a development squad of junior players for Galway. They're playing a tournament next year.
Galway County Board have put in an application for their Minor Hurlers to play in either the Munster or Leinster Minor Championship. I think Munster should take them.
Why would Munster take them. Leinster need them. Its already competitive enough in Munster ,although they would add even more competition. Is that what you'd want..
More 'hothousing'..probably a good thing
The more competition the better. Leinster did their bit by taking the senior side.
I think there's enough talent for A and B minor competitions at this stage too.
Not links to Tipp myself but really impressed with Tim Floyds comments regarding the split season.
The hurlers played Offaly on Saturday and Dublin on Sunday. Different panels on both days - many players not named on the official panel being looked at too. It's a big group he is looking at. A few surprises positionally - Breen at full back for one.
