Honorary lol........... as the man would say if he wasn't banned
He’s one of the good ones here. I have learnt a lot from him over the years.
Spotted a load of signs on the M50 today telling people to be winter ready....in 14C heat 😳
GOM showing 450km at 100% in November is crazy
Just goes to show the effect climate change is having, might be nice for us this winter with an energy crisis, but this can't be good for the ecosystem here
Winter ready, bring your sunscreen...
Yes, I first mentioned the reduced battery capacity on ID.3 tread on 21 Dec 2020 after couple return trips Cork Dublin, 3 months after I collected the car. It only really manifested itself on long journeys where I def was missing range. I guess I had this “feature” ex works. Only took 2 years to fix it:)
And how is it now for long trips?
Can you do Cork to Dublin without stopping? (you should be)
It's grand now, on average GOM shows 360 km range. In current weather probably closer to 330km. The range predictiion is now a lot more reliable and i can probably get to within 10% of the estimated range. Previously the GOM figures were not reflected in the achived range. Now I can def get to Dublin on one charge if I do 100km/h. With favourable wind and warm weather I think I used smth like 74% to get to Dublin. Closer to 80% on the way back due to prevailing winds. The worst so far I had on the way back to cork in torrential rain and gale force headwind - ab 95% of the battery.
Also, I got the SOH test results back - 93.3%. They couldnt tell me which figures they used to calculate the %. I was shown what they can access on the their VW system and battery capacity is not there. So we will never know.
No picture but saw two of the Toyota BZ4X outside the Toyota Dealer in Drogheda yesterday.
Jonny was in Ireland in a Born.
Did anyone else see this? Two killed and three injured. Reports are the car took off by itself while trying to park. The speed if the car is crazy and it's very lucky there wasn't an awful lot more killed.
Actually saw it just a few minutes ago and came here to see if there was any discussion or further information already. It's be interesting to know what actually went wrong.
Three options
1. Car went mental - not sure if this is possible?
2. Person had some sort of medical issue (stroke or something and jammed their foot on the accelerator) - maybe unlikely with the way they looked to be trying to steer away for traffic/people.
3. Person was just driving like a lunatic and lost control - not sure why you'd just take off like they did at the start 8f this was true.
Any link or anything?
Just seeing your text so no context?
Im assuming an EV crash?
Is the Twitter link not showing?
Edit: Nope it's gone but was definitely there as John replied.
Has someone edited my original post and John's reply to remove the link?
Look for this tweet in the centre with the bike. It's a runaway Model Y in China.
Cheers.
had just googled so assume this - https://english.alarabiya.net/business/technology/2022/11/13/Tesla-to-assist-China-probe-into-fatal-crash-that-killed-two-injured-three
That might be an expensive tweet if it turns out to be human error!
Cant find it now. I wonder has he deleted it.
Yep that's it but the video is shocking with the speed of the car. It knocks someone off a bike and the smashes through what looks like a TucTuc and eventually crashes into a pole.
I'm not saying it's true or not but given that a bunch of people seem to be using Musk's pay to verify feature to prank various companies including Tesla, I'd wait for some independent confirmation
What's typically happened in the past is that Tesla is able to look at the data for the car and they see the accelerator pedal was pushed all the way down because the driver got it mixed up with the brake pedal
Like I said, not saying if the video is true or not, but let's just see what comes of it
Always seems to be human error when the truth comes out.
The guys tweet seems to have disappeared altogether.
Here's the video from Shanghai Daily.

That’s some speed through those small streets. RIP.
Jesus, shocking stuff
Nearly 7% missing? For a car that's what, not even 2 years old? That's on par with the leafs, time to pull out the good old battery chemistry excuse.
Folks,
My mothers Yaris has pretty much sh1t the bed!!! and I just want rid of it at this stage and not willing to spend another dime on repairing it, and would desperately love to get my mother into an EV...
Range wise 100km would be more than enough for her... (she drives like Miss Daisy)
What do you think of this battery owned Zoe? mileage is fairly high though!!
22kWh battery with a range of 100-120 kms and up to 43kW AC rapid charging giving a full charge in under 30 minutes. Excellent condition throughout, 155,000 kms, dealer service history, just serviced, NCT and Tax. Battery Owned - No Lease. 91% battery health.
That zoe is very well known on the IEVOA facebook page. A certain Irish youtuber who was admin there for years used to own it and put up big miles.
Battery SOH was very very good even at 120-130k km from memory, like 98-99%. If I were buying a Zoe that's one I'd reccomend.
Brilliant review, thanks for posting. I'd love one tbh.
They look fantastic imo, and about a million times nicer than the ID.3 it's based off!
I know it's like a different car.
I’m sure it’s a nice car but it’s surely a lot smaller than an ID.3
They are the same car with different styling…
(it’s an ID.3 underneath)
Unless VW have been telling more lies, I think you might have your wires crossed.
