An early starter for 2022 and our annual crop of adverts. Lets see if we get any memorable ones this time around. Expect this thread to be reasonably slow until we pass the Nov.1st threshold but theres always a few international ones popping up early.
While better than John Lewis again this year. I just felt it a bit forced. Maybe Iβm getting old and grouchy πππ
I'm probably guilty of holding new ads to too high a standard and compare them to the Guinness, Bud, Coke etc iconic ads and not judge them solely on their own merits.
I think my favourite one this year is actually the Spar one.
John Lewis one is absolutely useless this year. But I never liked any of their ads so maybe I'm not the person to comment π€£
I preferred the ones like The Journey, The Long Wait, or even the Bear and the Hare... the simpler and happier ones- not the contrived sanctimonious/tearjerker ones.

I really liked the one from the Welsh hardware store (I think!!) from a few years ago.
I saw the 'home-alone' theme ad from Aldi yesterday once, Keven the carrot and all. seems ok.
Loved that one, authentic and goes to show you don't need a massive budget to make a great ad!

Thought last years Ebanana scrooge was good to be fair, but this one is a wee bit better... Genuinely thought they had jumped the shark with Kevin before last years advert was launched but to be fair they've had a couple of good un's!!
Yeah same I was well over Kevin a few years ago, but I'm enjoying the parodies.

Will there be a BBC Christmas ad this year?
Honestly the one with the mother and son at the amusement arcade gets me every single time.
I donβt seem to recall any BBC Christmas ads.
They have had some crackers imo.
It's mad most of the ads get 30 seconds or not much longer, I only have Irish channels but thanks to this thread I know Kevin the carrot had a much longer or a bigger parody and build up to Home Alone than RTE and Virgin Media suggested and most of the others have long cuts that never get shown either.
I think the TK Maxx ad is good but I've yet to see a full showing of it, there are 2 different short cuts shown but there is a 72 second version of high 5's being dished out. The song it uses though is 10 minutes long and is quite something.
Just saw the guinness advert for the first time this year.... its Christmassss!!!

Me too! It was on during I'm a celebrity! I've been reading this forum everyday all year and felt this ad was moment I just needed to let my excitement out! It was like a giant hug watching it!
i just came in here to say that i saw that advert as well and i got really excited. Still waiting on the coca cola advert
I know its not new, but now that its finally been aired for the first time in the 2022 christmas season I felt we needed a reminder of its brilliance π
Haven't seen it so far however will be watching some the footie over the next few days so hopefully only a matter of time before I see it.
