What if the trade saved the lives of 10 Ukrainians?
It's still an own goal because 10 more will die due to those who now won't defect. Don't post videos of guys for propaganda to only then allow them to be executed. Its a stupid decision any way you look at it.
Eh, I'll bow to the judgement of people who know more than me regarding the content, but I honestly think someone needs to have a friendly word in his ear about using Comic Sans.
Ukraine does not have ATACMS so they do not control crimea with himars
So we can light a fire with the paper that "analysis" was written on
This 100%. It used to be said a few years ago, " If you are unhappy with your own Country, go and live in Russia for a while, and when you return, you will be delighted with life in your own Country." And it's very true.
That tame appeal could get them anything up to 15 years in prison. To make any kind of formal protest or appeal is a crime in Russia, and they're appeal could be construed as saying that the state is failing in its duty to its citizens, and therefore it's a criticism of the state. This is not allowed except under Govt controlled circumstances.
One wounded as result of Russian missile strike in Kurakhove
But they have the ability to hit Crimea, and it's not as if this has suddenly stopped the conflict, the Ukrainans will hammer the Russians further into Kherson as they push forward, remember it was predicted on here weeks ago of how everything was bogged down with the mud season and very well entrenched russian forces, and Ukrainian retreats because Russia has "Stablised" the situation well done Bois .
What did we get more Ukrainian victories and russian retreats ,
Exactly. Thank you.
Yes there are lots of unknown in this case but the indisputable facts are that this man gave himself up willingly to the Ukrainians and a month later he's literally getting his brains bashed in with a sledgehammer on Telegram by the people who he fled from in the first place.
Regardless of what happened in between that will be used by Russians to strike fear into anyone on their own side who was thinking of giving themselves up to the Ukrainians.
Ukraine have consistently played a blinder on the PR front which makes something like this all the more surprising.
I did think the thread had gone quiet from the usual Ukraine bad Russia good carry on.
GTFO with that nonsense. I've been consistent in calling out all of the bad faith trolls in this thread with their consistent undermining of Ukraine with their whataboutery and false equivalencies.
You will remember those videos showing Prigozhin recruiting in the Russian prisons and laying out the terms and conditions, which were very clear and to the point. " If you join and survive 6 mths, you will be a free man, your crime pardoned. If you desert, you will be killed. So, no one who joined was under any illusions about what the job entailed, and what failure would mean.
We've also all seen the videos of Zelensky telling Russian troops to surrender and that they will never be sent back to Russia if they won't to be...
Its obviously still unclear how he ended up back in Wagner custody. Ukraine say a prisoner exchange (voluntarily!?), Russia say a snatch operation (seems unlikely). Neither look good though.
Its not about the person involved who I am sure is less than a model citizen.
Yes he knew the consequence if the Russians got their hands on him again. All the more reason for him to stay out of their hands after surrendering to the Ukrainians.
Either one of two things happened here. Neither of them is good:
The Ukrainians have been actively creating videos in Russian directed at the Russians telling them that if they surrender to them they will be treated far better than the Russians would treat them themselves. Handing someone right back to the Russians, against their will, would render that message entirely meaningless.
Even if that guy committed some heinous crime in the time he was in Ukraine they would literally have been better off executing him themselves than handing him back to the Russians to be butchered for their sick propaganda purposes. They have no shortage of captured Russian army POWs that they can use for prisoner exchanges.
The Ukrainians have done amazingly under incredibly difficult circumstances. I don't think that should make them immune to criticism when they blunder though. That's not some tacit support of the Russians. For me anyway, it's literally coming from a place of wanting them to win this damn war and seeing something like this as something that doesn't help them to achieve that goal.

The amount of angst over one Orc is ridiculous. It's probably psy ops, if so, it's working a treat. It might be better to wait for all the facts to be known.
Very strange to say the least. And does not put Ukraine in a good light, especially when they were the shining white knights. I'll wait and see for a bit before making a judgement. Something not right about it anyway. How could Ukraine not see what the outcome would be?
They might have something similar or even better coming soon

That is not what was stated in that so called analysis noa was it ?? ... what was said is factually incorrect.. they cannot hit kerch with himars ..
Nope.
Facts are irrelevant supposedly.
Let me try to explain this for you in more simple terms
You quote a twitter link stating
"whole Crimea is now in firing range of HIMARS, including Kerch and the damaged Kerch Bridge."
The only one inserting the word hypothetical is you .... The twitter link you posted did not not talk in hypothesis it stated the above which is false.
Same as you spouting absolute drivel when claiming there are nuclear sea mines of the Irish coast.
Now do you agree with your twitter link stating the above ? yes or no
I thought i was already on your probably lenghthy ignore list
Its not really mature to attack the poster and not the post and then immediatly hide behind "I have you on ignore"
I hope they do .... Should have had ATACMS months ago, but can understand its politically tricky
Not sure if he’s the last
How do we know that the ‘sledgehammer’ killing was real. What we have seen so far can easily be presented as real but in fact is a fake. A good Computer programmer or equivalent can create it. Also we have ONLY the ‘poor victim’s word for it. Everything is made public with a purpose - irrespective of whether it is true or false
The Ru may have murdered the said prisoner cum soldier with a sledgehammer and got him to say what he said beforehand BUT they have murdered him for a totally other reason and nothing to do with the war and if so it may that he absconded from. The Front on the RU side
I’ll light a candle for him RIP
It is offcourse, when Putin talks crossing the red line before use of nuclear arms,he did that before Himars as well
But its a reason why Russia uses drones from Iran and artillery shells from North Korea.
They are running low on many things.
And this will give Ukraine and advantage
More reports of what has already been classified as b*.
*Ordinarily* this would be a good point (don't hand over a prisoner to a terrorist state), but the circumstances are extraordinary - that terrorist state has invaded Ukraine and is killing Ukrainians on a daily basis. Ukraine can hardly be held responsible for what that bunch of murderers are doing inside their own borders.
Big News, Huge-
Since the beginning of the week, the Ukrainian military liberated 179 settlements on the right bank of the Dnipro on more than 4,500 square kilometers. Stabilization measures and demining are carried out there
Of course they can. They openly said they would protect defectors. Russia said they would kill any defectors. Handing him over they knew 100% that he would be tortured and murdered. They had openly promoted him as an example of the benefits of defection. They've done alot right in this war but that was wrong.
That's a stupid comment to make. Could have said naive, optimistic etc. People get carried away after all.
Anyway Ukraine have full fire control over the entry to the peninsula. And by threatening to land there (even if they don't) at the very least forces Russia to defend it and thus they're required to venture into a zone over which Ukraine has total fire control. It's the peninsula equivalent of Snake Island.
