The Russians are on the run now, likely back to Crimea. It’s time for Ukraine to pile the pressure on. Russia are not capable of organising a defence is such a short period of time.
I wonder where the next front will open up now? Pushing in closer to Melitopol area to get the land bridge to Crimea under fire control would be a good way to hamper supplies seeing as how the Kerch bridge is still being repaired.
Or maybe one of his doppelgangers, who knows?
The future is here already-
This is the incident you referred to. Mother of a member of Kursk crew.
I would have thought Sievierodonetsk and Zaporizhzhia has to be on the cards especially with it being closer to karkhiv and they have been building Fortifications and suppy routes, meanwhile the Russians are trying day in and day out for bakhmut for whatever reason they have been sending men and equipment to the meat grinder.
Nice is that some kind of epoxy resin fired out or some kind of corking ? Thought there would be some low tech solution. Looks like it just gums up the rotors.
At the time that tragedy was unfolding I knew a few Russians living here. Anyway that incident came up in convo, the men stayed out of it, the women were more open(as I found Russian women tend to be anyway) and their attitude shocked me tbh. Totally alien to us in the "West", and they knew it but no fúcks were given. The general gist was "well she was upsetting other people so naturally they did what was best for her/she wasn't letting the government/expert speak and being disruptive". I found them culturally extremely deferential to authority and "experts" particularly again the women and antagonistic towards anyone who would question same. "That is the way" as it were, to reference a recent cultural thing. In most cultures women are more the gatekeepers and maintainers of cultural mores and attitudes and until there's a change there then I can't see much changing overall.
They might let all of Kherson go to concentrate on Donbas and Crimea. Otherwise it might be endless attrition in Kherson with no real advantage for them.
Great theatre… go to your local community centre to see similar, although might be labelled as Jack and the beanstalk panto.
I was searching for a longer version of the video Wibbs, but cannot find it. I do recall that the same "nurse" was suspiciously close to another of the mothers a few minutes earlier who also went suddenly silent. Anyway the issue I feel is that Russians are not enured against grief, it is more that they have never had an open free society where grief was permitted for fear of it becoming a rallying cause for change. They do still feel it, they are human.
Is it not straight out of the KGB playbook. Suddenly drunk or feinting carried off.
The Third Department under the Tsars, the NKVD during WW2, the KGB during the cold war, FSB now. Different names, same people, always been there.
Grandson greets Grandmother who stayed in Kherson.
In the normal course of events, where there is a death in the Russian family, they do grieve, and are very open about it too. Very much like Irish funerals. Friends and Family will frequent the house where the deceased member lived and offer their support. At the graveyard, the Family and friends will gather, and if it's a family plot, they will have a table there with food and drink in plenty. After the coffin is lowered, they will take turns filling it in. Once that's done, the men will each take a glass of vodka to the grave, drink some and empty the rest into the grave. Then they will eat and drink and talk about the deceased life at the grave. And they will regularly repeat this, especially on anniversary s. All this talk about exchanging their menfolk for a Lada or death money is pure bullshit. They take the loss of family members very badly and suffer when one of them dies. That women in the video is an example of this grief, the nurse and police were there to keep a tight lid on it. Imagine in that hall, if several women had lost their menfolk, and reacted as she did, and it triggered a riot? That's why the police react quickly to any disturbance's....they have to. But at some point, it will break out of their control.
One thing to note next week, winter kicking off with temperatures plunging below zero across much of Ukraine and heavy falls of snow expected later in the week. Weather has been quite benign until now.
Well, there was one video a few weeks ago when Patriarch Kirill was blessing some of the newly recruited mobilized and trying to encourage them about the future. (Which even back then, looked very bleak) telling them not to worry, they were doing God's work, and if they got killed, they would go straight to heaven. I guess a lot of them know now about eternity.
More like hot pokers in uncomfortable places. 🤐
Say what you like about Micheál and Leo but they're never going to impose a Nurse Ratched on us.
Given the definition and finality of hell, I'd be reluctant to wish it on anyone, but for these bastards, I'd be prepared to make exceptions, on the grounds that hell is where they came from, and they would only be going home.
There seems to be no reporting of Russian missile attacks so presumably they have abated - that's either really, really good or really, really bad
Good, if someone has managed to force Putin's hand (by promising to not annihilate his forces)
Bad, if there's a big one on the way
I sense it's good though, I hope he's being sidelined
Reports of incoming missles around karkhiv earlier today ,no mention of hits or damage though
This is clearly bollocks.
They may have secret squirreled in Fancy AA to Ukraine. Or the russins on the last of the washing machine parts.
Could be a new Union of Prosperity in charge.
But that's wishful thinking.
On a serious note what does Russia do here. They are being utterly humiliated in front of the world.
This is starting to look like Germany's invasion of the USSR.
Well not bigging up the nazis here but atleats they put up a good fight. The russians cant even do that. So it's like nazi failure times 11.
I wouldnt rule it out quite yet
Ukraine have apparently not stopped their offensive yet,and why should they?
If they stop now,Russia will have time to regroup and start another offensive
Now is the time to take Russia ,while they are weak and on the run
I will rule it out for you.
Only an incredibly stupid person could believe that Ukraine are going to attempt a landing on the opposite shore of the Dnipro at this stage.
The experts always knew Russia was ****. We don't know until it's done. Who else is ****, who are overrated? I think China are ****. USA are the power now.
