New regulations new season....
Can redbull keep up the pace
So max will win them! Who will come second in those 2 races is the more exciting question? I'd say checo will get second in the driver's and Ferrari may just pip merc for the constructors.
Max should take it, but I suspect Ferrari will be a bit stronger at least in Abu Dhabi.
Merc have gotten closer and closer in the last three races. I wouldn't completely rule them out.
In my opinion the mercs will only win if both Red Bull and Ferrari mess up, Mercs whole season has been based on one of the other two teams messing up. If Ferrari weren't so Ferrari Mercedes wouldn't even have a look at second place in the championship.
And also Sky will be insufferable if Hamilton wins a race this year making it out like it's the greatest underdog story since slum dog millionaire
Well with Hamilton being Brazilian now surely Sky will be massaging the egos of Russell and Lando
They will need luck to go their way for a win. Ferrari were totally off the pace in Mexico for a mix of reasons.
Generally, brazil is the only potential crazy race. Most races in Abu Dhabi have been fairly predictable in recent year...with a notable exception.
And according to Brazil he's an 8 time world champion aswell
They are a funny bunch.
Brazil's love affair with Hamilton is bizarre alright. So Senna is his idol? Big whoop. That's where the comparison ends. Hamilton hasn't a ounce of the charisma or aura that Senna had.
It's almost as if Hamilton tries to piggy back off his personality, as he has little of his own.
Ferrari are in damage limitation mode. They will happily coast to 5th and 6th in the last 2 races to get second in the constructors.
They had a genuinely brilliant car this year, if they can work out how to ease up on tire wear it could be one of the best on the grid next year. They will have to improve their current strategy of just asking the drivers what they should do, though.
It's not like the Brazilian government have been renowned for making great decisions in recent years. Nelson Piquet Jr was quite critical of the decision, mentioning that Lewis has zero connection with Brazil other than turning up for races and saying he likes Senna. It seems like the decision was made off the back of him wearing a Senna tribute helmet and driving a victory lap with a Brazilian flag after the race win last year, which were smart PR moves to draw attention away from the flexing rear wing and spicy engine that delivered an easy win for them that weekend.
Ah, isn't Piquet Max's father in law these days? Hardly an objective observer in last years championship.
I seriously wonder what some people would do of Hamilton ever does something genuinely bad. He paid tribute to Senna and Brazil, and somehow he's an asshole for that? I don't get it.
Why when did Hamilton become Brazillian lol?
So what's left to win? Whoever is 2nd in the Constructors and 3rd and 4th maybe?
Who is 3rd in the drivers championship?
I know Max won and Sergio was 2nd. So is Lecerc 3rd?
Close enough between Ferrari and Merc for second, and Checo and Charles for the runner up as well yup.
...Max will probably win both the remaining races anyway.
He comes across as so dull and boring, it's just the same robotic answers everytime. Compared to how other drivers get on with each other and join in on the pr games for YouTube etc normally Hamilton isn't involved. He used to a lot more relaxed and up for the craic but now he's always banging on about some agenda
I think there’s a fair bit to play for in the constructor standings. Merc unlikely to catch Ferrari but possible. Alpine trying to hold off McClaren but Alpine have some reliability issues and Danny Ric theoretically having some form to make it a two driver effort for McClaren. Aston Martin trying to catch Alfa Romeo for 6th with Haas and Alpha Tauri going for 8th. Not the most exotic battles but meaningful for the teams in terms of prize money.
Still a fight for second. Charles should be well ahead but the personal and team errors have been costly. I’m really interested to see can Russell hold off Hamilton. Hamilton has looked the more likely to win a race when he and the car are both on song whereas Russell has consistently ground out results and been Johnny on the spot when there’s opportunities. People can reference the 2022 changes meaning a new car for both but finishing ahead of such a great driver in his first year at the team would be a big achievement. Sainz is in touching distance of Hamilton, hope they can turn the car back up to give him a chance.
Except piquet would be called a cnut but he lacks the depth and warmth of one
Some pics of the Aston Martin floor:
Ftx gone bankrupt, they sponsored Mercedes
The lemons are so strong in this one.
Also, Nelson Piquet Jnr? Who actively cheated to help his team mate win a race and then sold them out as if he was a victim?
Or are you talking about his racist father? Either way, not exactly the lads who are in any position to hold a moral high ground.
"Sir" lewis Hamilton, the champion of social justice, took an award from a family who paid 12 million to protect sexual predator
Who needs fast cars going around a track when preaching about morals is so riveting.
This really isn’t the gotcha you think it is.
In fact, it’s quite pathetic.
Racist _and_ homophobic father who is despised across the paddock
Also, funny that any mention of Abu Dhabi and people have to get over it and yet that poster is still banging on about the 'spicy engine' exactly a year later.
No hypocrisy at all there.
F1 and morals doesn't really go together
Awe Saturday Qualifying love it. Sat up with a nice cuppa some fruit and nut mix and enjoying the Quali :)
OMG the Haas of Kevin Magnessun on pole. Wow delighted for Haas and Delighted for Kevin. Bringing him in this year to replace that other driver who's name I forget lol was just pure brilliance by Haas. Only pity is its only for a stupid Sprint race but hey two races Tomorrow Sunday so I am OK with that.
Sprint race is finished and main race tomorrow.
