Yeah. I kind of got the impression that the author was getting a bit "were meant to be talking Messi vs Ronaldo here" by the end of the Mbappe chat.
Ronaldo carrying around a list of his achievements 🤣
Serious insecurity issues there.
Only someone with insecurity issues would say that
I think it was the beginning of all the best Messi Ronaldo chat. Close contacts are going to start talking in the next few years. Gonna get great nuggets. All the boring who is better stuff will always be there but we're going to start to see behind the curtain.
Listening to the gaa rights podcast - does anyone know if Paul flynn was ever in the GPA ?
I don't think so, he's never mentioned it anyway 🤣
Mcconville will be a loss to the coverage when you have to listen to this lad's guff.
Trimby
Shaggy
X-Factor
Box kicks
I wasn't ready for rugby chat.
I like rugby but hate the use of nicknames like that. Its overly familiar. I get they know each other but many listeners don't. Also I think horgan mentions the word "emotion" in every single analysis piece he does
I agree with this, I like the rugby coverage in relation to Ireland, particularly 6 Nations and world cups etc but the name thing is as annoying as ****. There's almost a private school buzz off the names it just bugs me. You don't hear this over familiar naming in relation to any other sports so why this?
It is a private school buzz though? The guys know them by those names. It would be weird to call them by their surnames for them.
If you had premier League players on, they would probably have nicknames for players.
Brian Kerr used to refer to players he'd managed in a similarly casual way when he was doing commentary.
Yeah fair enough maybe it's not its just striking it doesn't really happen with other sports discussed that i can think of off the top of my head. I like the Rugby coverage in general but that element of it always bugs me
I knew Ken wouldn't let him off with his "mise n'meas"
"This guy"
Was funny to hear US Murph go on about how great the Warriors culture is, given how Draymond Green battered a teammate in training a month ago.
Surprised to find OTB doing the more insightful coverage of the World Cup and everything surrounding it so far. Hopefully we get something solid from the lads.
Enjoyed Mondays football show where they covered most games of the weekend rather focusing on the "big 6 teams" games
That's because ken wasn't there. As much as I love listening to Ken he would have just obsessed over Conte and Potter or something.
Is Ken travelling to Qatar?
Yes, they mentioned it the other day. Delighted he is as it would have been disappointing if they chose not to do so.
Still some tickets left for the live events. Almost missed it, was listening to yesterdays podcast a day late.
Got tickets for the Saturday. Looking forward to it.
Same here, Saturday football show. All sold out in a couple of hours. Hopefully Jonathan Wilson is a guest
Got Saturday too, will be good craic watching the match afterwards too
Murph speaking Irish at the end of the episodes has to be up there with anything for the most annoying thing ever on second captains.
Jonathan Wilson and Tim Vickery on the same podcast.
What a time to be alive.
Last time I saw Vickery was on France 24, he was reporting on the aftermath of the Brazilian election, he looked in great form.
That triggers me too for some reason.
First half of that world cup preview was all over the place with (mainly Miguel) talking over each other and going off on tangents.
