I have an offer of €1300 for both, although I reckon the Wallbox should really be cheaper. It's €150 less to buy.
It’s €1199 from carcharger.ie and €1150 from ecoplex.
I don’t export enough to justify buying one currently but it would be a nice to have.
Who does zappi for 1300? Pm if you prefer

Post the name on thread. You are allowed and it might help a few others.
Ok it was EV Power Ireland and eCar Infra. But I have to point out, my house was pre-wired when I bought it.
Thanks.
then the 1300 price will be largely irrelevant for most.
it backs up my original post (which you quoted) that the zappi is quite more expensive than the wall box.
Pushed my grid connection hard last night!!....looks like the Zappi throttled back to stop me breaking 14kW import (60Amp) HP was on for a half hour but also the HP went through its legionella cycle at the same time which is about 2kW, dishwasher just missed it or it would have throttled back further.
I have a 16kVA connection so I presume I can adjust the grid limit to say 80Amp in the Zappi myself.
I'd potentially suggest that if the house is prewired and you're still being charged €1300 for a Wallbox you're being ripped off, seeing as plenty will install for €1150/€1200 with zero wiring in place for them.
Agreed. I went with a Hypervolt from a different company in the end. Happy with my choice, it seems to rate well in reviews I have seen and the software is supposed to be better than Wallbox. Sorry, hijacking a Zappi thread!
I think the €1300 was for the Zappi which represents about a €300 discount for being pre wired.
I had two quotes for Zappi for €1300. One said they would do the Wallbox with cable and connector holder for the same price. I know it would need a data cable pulled, but it seemed a bit pricey given the Wallbox is cheaper to source that a Zappi.
Yes, it using your discounted price of €1300 appears to be because your house is pre wired.
Wall box doesn’t need a data cable. I didn’t run one in my father in laws. I think it has Wi-Fi built in or maybe his phone connects to it by Bluetooth?
But it was €599 nett of the grant.
Double post
Just replying to my own post...did some investigation and looked into the advanced settings and yes the grid limit was set to 63Amps I changed it to 80Amp now so on the rare occasion the Zappi will not throttle down. No point in having a 16kVA connection and not get to use it..
Is your consumer unit main fuse 80A?
Yeah it is , double checked before I did anything. Main ESB fuse is 100A
Yes connection to the unit for control is BT or Wifi, but I think it needs a data cable to the CT clamp for load balancing? Not entirely sure on that, the installer mentioned he needed it just for a signal and it would need to be pulled through.
Any ideas? Zappi stopped showing CT clamp readings this morning. Should it just fix itself, or do I need to do anything to fix it?
Did you reboot the zappi and the hub (if you have one)?
I have not. Only reading how to do that now. I've no hub, but 2 harvis.
To restart it's go to menu and hold the menu button for 5 seconds?
How can I change my Zappi to use my access points SSID, rather than connect via the WPS on the ISP provided modem?
I tried to turn on the Access Point on the zappi, but it won't toggle from "off" to "on".
if i remember rightly i had to connect my phone to the zappi ssid and was able to change it that way, it was a bit of a faff.
Got it eventually. I had to hit the enter/ok button many many times repeated when on "Access point - off" to get it to toggle to on. Got my phone connected up then and connected to our access point. Thanks!
Got a quote for a Zappi Install for 1800€, €1200 after grant, what are the thoughts on this?
Where? Sounds expensive
Ya thought so……Im in Kildare, from a company Wattcharger.
It depends on what work needs to be done above and beyond what a “standard” install would be.
e.g Tails need upgrading, earth rod needs fixing, long cable run etc.
Did the quote give any breakdown?
It’s a new build, one issue was no ESB isolator fitted in the meter box the following also assumed
Cable <6m, isolator swtich and RCBO safety device fitted
Fuseboard is fit for purpose and has sufficient space for safety components
No civils works are inc in base cost
No earthing & bonding inc.
Assumes incoming "tails" are sized in line with regulation
Does not include periodic inspection testing
Cable run of about 11/12 metres
