Cha-ching
Why are they flying the Russian imperial flag?
(actually scratch that, it would be right on-brand for them to take territory (or roof beams in this case) that don't belong to them
If the ESB have it disconnected for more than 2 years I think then you are looking at paying about 3k to have it reconnected & paying to have the wiring certified
Does off grid mean the esb disconnected it and will refuse to reconnect it as it's a death trap?
How would a renter get power? A petrol generator in the garden?
At least they could put in an off grid system if solar panels and batteries, not just say off grid good luck.
I wonder how that roof would get on with a fall of snow on top of it?
Beachfront Bungalow , secluded , suit Sea/Nature lovers Serial killers/Meth cooks/Interpol watchlisters...
And that roof beam is purely cosmetic, right?
That is actually hilarious, The landlord "David Byrne" must be taking the piss
Wheelchair accessible too... That's up there with the worst I've seen, all I can imagine is all the ways one could be injured
That 'floor' that just goes over the edge in pic 5 is a total liability. In pic 6 there seems to be reflections in a sheet of glass, but I can't see where the glass is. Presumably those two sheets of heavy glass in pic 5 are to go somewhere similar. It looks like a death trap.
Jaysus!!!
Ad says it's off grid, probably because the wiring is a death trap. No way is the unverified B3 BER even remotely accurate. I'm going to report the ad.
Is that a toilet in the kitchen? (photos 8 and 9)
Are these trees growing out of the counter top spreading out it seems through the roof with some electrical wires mixed through. Thats some mess.
Wow I think thats one of the worst properties thats been on here. The cheek of them to expect someone to rent that wreck for €2700.
It looks like it was renovated by an amateur using stuff they had lying around in the shed or picked up from the dump.
€2700 a month for that! I can't even tell where the 3 bedrooms are supposed to be.
It looks very unsafe - one of the support beams removed from the ceiling to put in a rickety staircase too.... what?
Jesus that place is a mess.
Looks like someplace I could have built, all by myself, when I was 14. Can people just pick what ever BER they think they'd like for their house, and just go with that?
I love those chateau restoration channels on youtube. I'd love to do something similar with this sort of building but sadly I'm both broke and boring. lol.
It reminds me of Bellinter House in Navan, I loved it there. I think it'd do very well as a wedding venue/boutique hotel. I'd 100% visit anyway.
Auctioneers ate no fools either. They generally have a grasp of the market. It's a 0.6 acre site. It will probably be bought for development. You could possibly put 12+ units in an apartment type building on it. On the other hand somebody could buy it and put a big f@@k off house on it. 875k seems a good bit strong depending on the target market but auctioneers are seldom out by more than 10%
Sometimes you'd have to wonder what sort of eijit would pay these prices. I tip my hat to the owners though, they'll be laughing all the way to the bank.
always wanted an oubliette for my posting enemies
That could be a real "Escape to the Chateau" type restoration project for someone. It could be beautiful. But expensive!
Presumably the EA peered into an unused cellar (root cellar?) and said 'what's this?' and the owner replied 'Oh we call that the Black Hole'.
What's a black hole room? Listed with cellar, dairy etc.
You would need a couple of million with the price of the place. However you could turn it into some money spinner. Small boutique hotel and restaurant. Change one of the out houses into a comfortable dwelling.
I feel as though it should appeal to me, but it doesn't. Heck of a lot of work putting it back together, interesting place though.
Im a bit late for Halloween posting this.
Would of been some craic back in the day. The plaque of one its former residents, Gerald Edwin Hamilton Barrett-Hamilton, has an interesting life.
There is also what seems a commercial premises on the he cul de sac beyond the water plant.
As I said as well around the house is all tarmac on the site part retained. The house would need to reconfigure there own waste treatment before selling. 20k would not make a dent in the cost of that.
Far simpler to install an Alternative Treatment Unit onsite and have it serviced once or twice a year for a toilet or two that get little use.
Public sewer is probably gone down there as well. There would be toilet facilities in the plant as they are treating drinking water there they would not put a septic tank near it at the plant.
Both correct. It's for supplying Sligo with drinking water. It's known as the Fox's Den Water Treatment Plant.
