Julian is a lovely man, wouldn't hurt a fly.
He overstepped the mark and apologised as I would expect.
I'm sure there is no ill feeling on Banville's part either, just a literary spat.
At least we have moved on from Kavanagh and Behan having a punch up in the gents in The Bailey.
Just a bit of arse boxing so el?
Everybody’s great….. everybody’s great…
Listened a bit this morning.. another dull, boring, rubbishy affair with the same old guff and people.
Really? I thought it was a decent show, once you got past the excessive amounts of Cork accents.
You should check Gough’s ‘Jude’ books, B. Well worth a read. More enjoyable than anything Banville would put out.
Today's show was brought to you by The People's Republic of Cark and how great Cark is. Ballsy must have thought he was on Cark Local Radio such was the amount of times he referred to "Dublin people" and "Dublin people going home on Monday" when discussing the Cork Jazz/Bank Holiday Weekend. Playing to the gallery so to speak.
It’s so distracting hearing guests constantly say “amm… and so… amm… ammm”- I think this woman’s name is Lorna something? She might be nervous, but it’s so annoying to listen to.
Boring, bland, safe.
That appears to be the aim of the show these days.
It's outside elements stirring up dissent against the influx of refugees says the GP lady, sure I suppose you'd come to that conclusion if the only ones you mixed with were of a similar viewpoint and the only articles you read were of the welcome-all-we'll manage somehow kind, a complete disconnect
Guurls, guurls more guurls. Up Cark 🇧🇭
Ballsy apologised on Sunday's show for Saturday's being too Cark-centric, then introduced an all-Cark panel to review the papers.
Had to laugh tho on Saturday, at least two of the guests when asked if they were heading out for a bit of Jazz "Ah no now I won't be seeing any this year".....
Yeee dis....and yeee dat....and josephine duffy on top.
Bye bye RTE.
TG4 should replace the entire operation
Bono surprise guest on show.
It’s a really interesting interview and a completely different side to Bono. Much more Paul the human than Bono the rockstar. O’Connor is great at these sort of interviews.
Where is the surprise, he has turned up on everything but the moving crib.
Bono is at that age - mortality beckoning etc. Missed first part, were U2's business affairs discussed and their exile status as regards taxation?
Yes indeed. Very good interview too.
Sorry, I can listen to his music but could never listen to him. He was always too in awe of himself for me tbh.
Came across very well in that interview. All those “having a go” at the guy would do well to find a way to listen back to it.
True Bono pboh came accross well, listened to it all, all the same I bet Ali pulls him aside the odd time an says "you know Paul you don't half talk a lot of shyte sometimes, be quiet"
It was the I ever heard of Bono in an interview. The process of writing the book seems to have put a bit more meat on his deliverance.
In fairness, he made reference to him going on a bit himself.
Hasn't he hinted in the past that the band members tell him that regularly.
So those 'aving a go are legitimised? Phew.
Then Jesus said to them, '' a prophet is not without honour ,except in his own country , among his own relatives and in his own house''.
Mark 6:4
JC on the ball there imvhaho.
Ah now, I doubt you have that much of an opinion on the guy until his recent revelations about being an IRA target, along with his wife.
Especially after Uncle Gerry declared it was news to him.
Well it was a surprise to me and a pleasant one at that.
As for cribs, there's a lot of them going around 🙂
As I said, I was never able to listen to him waxing lyrical...music is fine.
IRA target? did you fall for that one? 😁😁
I really enjoyed that Bono interview. I have huge admiration for him.
