What happpens if you are in a scheduled flight to Dublin and have a car hire reserved in Dublin airport and the flight is diverted to Shannon.
what happens to the car hire ?
Edinburgh even!
Dublin now changing to runway 16.
seems nicely busy with alternate t/o and t/d and use of that little taxiway turn to 16 off the new runway ?
Couple of G/O, 7 holding to land and 7 holding to depart, 3 on approach. Going to be an interesting hour or two. Massive shower just passing over midlands, likely heading that way.
Loganair LM51 from Aberdeen gone around a second time.
Lots in the hold now. Gusting up to 50kts now, was up to 60kts earlier.
RYR712T and RYR139X both holding for Cork now
Dublin swapping runways now
Ryanair from Porto diverting to Beauvais seems a strange alternate to pick.
KLM1085 enters the room - can't remember 3 aircraft simultaneously holding for Cork before.
And RYR439V coming in too 😯
Barcelona twice on 16 now going for 28L.
RYR139X just gave up and heading for Dub probably - just heard it pass over at 6000ft
RYR712T Gave up - trying Shannon I think
Landed now in Cork
Why don't landings happen on 28 R as there is a 9 or 10 take-off queue on 28L
I'm counting 13 currently holding for Dublin, plus 5 on approach.
A queue to depart as well. What a pity 28R isn't available!
2 busy holding patterns
Tough day for EI3281 go arounds on both 16 & 28. Heading for SNN now after more than 2 hours in the air.

Just heard SAS told number 12 to depart. Definitely need 2 runways at the moment!
ATC mentioned 30 mins approx holding for DUB.
3 diversions now to SNN from DUB/ORK
Just watched live FR5204 from Sofia go around twice at DUB and now looks bound for the UK.
Got close first time, aborted landing very early second time after a decent hold out of Skerries.
Poor sods on FR4156 Alicante - Cork had a nasty end to their holiday... diverted to EDINBURGH this morning, sat there for several hours, then were flown back to Cork later on.... only for that flight to be diverted to Shannon.

Saw that trying to land at the airport, a nice new 737 Max too, made a couple of attempts after being in a hold pattern off the coast of Drogheda, then went off and did a loop at the top of Wales, was headed for Liverpool, then went off to Manchester... so the passengers had been on board for almost as long as it would have taken the Max to get to New York!
Intriguing, wonder what that's about.
Five hours and 15 minutes in the air versus an average for that flight of 3h32m.
Maybe the Max is harder to land than the old NG! 😀
I saw a number of Aer Lingus and NG Ryanair's land successfully, and an ATR :-D
Come in at 11pm last night from Fuerteventra on Ryanair. She was a bumpy landing but grand :)
After two landing attempts are made, diversion is usually mandatory unless there has been some significant change in conditions. With varying wind direction and speed during the day, some aircraft were able to land, others not. It's not just down to the aircraft type.
