It never fails to impress me just how much less cloudy it can be along the coastal strip of parts of Wicklow, when it can be mostly cloudy to cloudy just about everywhere else on the the island. A humid southerly wind with a westerly component seems to be the best case for this and today fits that bill perfectly. Being partly cloudy, it means that the sky around you in all directions is in or around half full of cloud and half full of clear sky, say 3/8 to 5/8 covered in cloud.
So in your case today, I'm picturing fairly blue skies overhead and to your west towards the Wicklow hills and grey cloudy skies out at sea and perhaps way off to your south and not too far to your north.
Meanwhile in Trim (Meath), it's plain old cloudy. Have looked around in all directions and whilst there is the very odd and very small sized slither of blue, it's not even enough to warrant a "Mostly cloudy" description.It is brightening up in general though so an "upgrade" to mostly cloudy (6/8 to 7/8 of the sky covered in cloud) may be posted in a while. It's quite mild too but very breezy so not really getting to feel the mildness.
Great drying today! Have all the heavy towels, jumpers and sheets on the line and they are drying fast in the breeze. Rare sight in mid November.
Are you located in the lee of some hills/mountains? Humidity is generally ranging from the mid 70's to the mid 90's, percentage wise, so I can't imagine evaporation of moisture from wet clothes being that great today even with the strong breeze. Unless of course, you're benefiting from dry air in the lee of mountains.......not unheard at all in this weather set-up as mentioned in my last comment on this thread.
