Great offer. Remember to put a reminder in your calendar to cancel before the 12-months expire.
Edit: Suggest using PayPal to pay because the Times website currently has some issues with card payments.
Exactly what I did. Phoned and cancelled and set up a new sub under a new email address.
What number do I call to CANCEl..... will be shortly 12 months in now and really never got any use for it. But dont want to get a FULL Month charge soon - so want to cancel.
What Else do I need to to have to hand on cancelling ???
Many thanks
I created a temporary virtual card on Revolut and changed my payment card on The Times to that temporary card, then when it did the verification I deleted the temporary card and that was that.
Here is the number below.
Im on a 5euro a month sub and was happy to pay it until the recent reorganizing (sacking of long term journalist) of the Ireland set up. Quality has taken a massive hit, English content is still there but I'm out. Quality wise I don't think I'd even bother trying to sub for this offer
I bailed when they platformed anti trans commentary in the Sunday Times, the sacking of the Irish journalists made it easy to forget. Its a shell of what it used be.
Can you sign up and in a month cancel subscription or will you loose the remainding 11 months?
Losing the Irish component was a pity, but this remains an insanely good deal.
That's what I did last year. I called the hotline after a number of weeks to cancel. I needed to insist that I keep the subscription for the full year. They were a bit surprised but did it no problem. I said back then that it was worth 5 Euro per year but not the regular fee, hence I wanted to use the full year but not beyond.
I must give them a call to cancel, my Black Friday offer from last year will be finishing up soon.
Already tried to cancel twice. Emailed them and was told it has to be done by phone (I knew this, just chancing my arm to save calling them). Called them a couple of times and it was closed, it was the week of the Queen's death so maybe that's why.
I cancelled today. 2min call. No hard sell or offer for discount.
Same for me.Very quick and straight forward.
€5 for 12 months or 42 cents a month is a no brainier
This deal is the best 5er anyone will spend this year.
What's the cancellation phone number please?
see post #95 above
Good thinking.
Takes 2 mins and saves a phonecall
I often do that as well with subscriptions which I might not continue with. It doesn't matter then if you forget to cancel.
For The Times I had paid with PayPal so just cancelled the billing agreement in my PayPal account. https://www.paypal.com/myaccount/autopay/
Where is the payment section on the times website? I don't appear to have an option to change my payment card.
My Account/My Billing.
Thanks, turns out the payment card I had used expired in October, I must have been thinking ahead lol
I was able to cancel and re-subscribe on the 5 euro deal with the same email. Just gave it a few days between cancellation and re-subscribing.
I called to cancel, and was offered 1 euro per month to continue my subscription for another year - not as cheap as the 5 euro offer but not that bad.
I took that as well. I usually only read it on a Sunday but at a €1 a month it's well worth it.
The 12 months for €5 is back on offer now, my subscription ended yesterday, signed up again today with new email and new card just to be safe.
My sub was up on Monday, just called them to "cancel" - got the 12 months for €5 again.
What number did you use? I rang 2 numbers yesterday around 10 am and got a taped message saying we are open 8-5!!
following
01 536 0818 - option 3 to cancel and go from there.
What is the term to describe seeing the full printed page as in paper edition? is that an available option?
