That car was made in China before they made improvements to the suspension over there. So expect a better ride in the RWD you order now whether it's coming from China or from Berlin!
I really like the design of the Y
I’ve driven both the Enyaq and the ID4 , didn’t like either of them, very little personality, the Ioniq 5 and the EV6 are way more desirable than the VW or Skoda IMO

After I drove the MY last Thursday, I was offered a quick spin in a M3 SR+ to compare the driving experience as this is effectively what I'll be getting. I didn't take them up on the offer, as I was under time pressure, we had to be back in town for a lunch appointment and there was an accident on the M50. But if you go out to Sandyford I'm sure they will accommodate you.

Indeed. I usually find I can drive whatever car I like and they have available over there. A couple of years ago in one afternoon I test drove the Model X Performance, Model S Performance Raven with cheetah stance launch (fastest car money could ever buy in Ireland at the time and still is until the Plaid arrives on these shores) and the Model 3 Performance. My favourite. Drove it hard over the Wicklow mountains in track mode 😎
I tend to agree with your point of view, tough choice by switching, you gain something but also lose something. Both cars are very similar and i definitely would miss the handling ride of the M3. If I was buying today, probably just go for the MY by default but having driven and owning an M3, the comparison goes deeper than what is on paper. Man, what to do?!!
Tesla rep in cork said it’ll be def China. The battery is not confirmed yet. Going for a spin in MY on Thursday.
They often know less than the people buying the cars, so take whatever they say with a large grain of salt. We won't know for certain either way at the moment, but we will know once the first Irish buyer of a €53k Model Y will get their VIN.

Yeah if I was buying today without having to trade the m3 and not having owned it for a couple of months I'd have bought the MY.
The LFP is standard on the base car the last 18 months or so.

Yep:) "the bog standard white";) After latests arguments with the VW dealer (still dont have the results of the SOH test), battery vows and forever delayed software updates, I made up my mind that my next car won't be a VW.
Tesla white is a fab colour. I have it on my M3P. It’s a pearlescent paint so there’s shimmer and glitter in it which you notice when clean in and in sun light.
I ordered the MY in MSM but I’m seriously considering editing my order to change to white.
It's nice. I like it too, but it's not as nice as the M3. I just found it strange that nobody said they prefer the look of the MY and a lot of people were saying "looks are subjective". Well yes, they are....but the MY is basically just a taller M3 with ugly wheels. It's still a nice looking yoke, but looks a bit out of proportion and it's not helped by the fact the M3 came first and the MY followed using the same platform and most of the same parts.
I prefer the look of the Y to the 3

Funny though anyone who has a purchased a recent model 3 have all said, being equal in price they would buy a Y over a 3. It's just more bang for the buck as they say..
Prefer it in blue or red but white isn’t at all bad , don’t like it in grey or black
that’s why we have choice I suppose. I had a Model S in silver and another in red so been there done that. I don’t generally like dark coloured cars due to the ease at which you see marks, scrapes and swirls.
And the S is a decade old, meanwhile alleged CEO is now devoting all his time to twitter, as are many of the top engineers
