The message of peace on Putins terms being amplified recently is about the faliure of Russia’s campaign to subjugate Ukraine and the failure of Russias campaign to hold Europe hostage over gas supplies. Pure and simple.

I am sure the Ukranians want to live in peace, witbout fear of Russian attack or subjugation - not just for the next day but next decade and beyond. True peace is more than a mere truce or absence of warfare. Atrocity can occur in so called peacetime too - camp, abuses, torture, executions.

Strategically this latest attack on Sevastopol is a really innovative use of both Aerial and sea based drones being used in a combined attack.

Yes the loss of life is saddening but hardly disturbing in that a sovereign state is fighting a defensive war within its own territory against an aggressive invader. What's disturbing is the invader raping and killing children. What's disturbing is the invader abducting children. What's disturbing are the war crimes and genocide being committed by the invader. What's disturbing are the threats of Nuclear war from the invader if everyone doesn't give into whatever demands it feels like having on a particular day. What's disturbing are the excuses trotted out by those who want the comfort of their pre war lives to resume at the expense of Ukrainian lives. What's disturbing are those who support the invaders because somehow big bad NATO/US/Satanists/NAZIs/the Tooth fairy made Russia do it. The list of what's disturbing about all of this goes on and on but ultimately what's most disturbing about this is the naivety of some posters thinking that all Ukraine has to do is just negotiate with Russia now and peace will reign.
