Don't think there has been a single demonstration of sympathy for the Ukrainian plight or even a protest outside the Russian embassy by those Russians living here. All we saw was that gowl of a mechanic in Kildare with his Z Jeep.
In fact, my work colleagues had to endure the ranting of an Irish colleague at the start of the war, who defended Putin and his invasion of Ukraine( he's a great leader....... Ukraine isn't even a real country), all because his Moscow born wife told him so. I've no sympathy for Russian people, whether here or in their own country. They are coming across as pretty cowardly IMO.
Set up an online petition for your fellow Russians in Ireland condemning Putin and condemning the invasion of Ukraine.

Fighting is getting closer and closer to the Luhansk hub city of Svatove. It's been under Russian occupation since the 6th March.
How do you arrive at that preposterous conclusion? Many other countries have sanctioned Oligarchs and seized Yachts, Including Italy sezing one of Putins 3, but if SA seize this one, half the world will be sanctioned. I'd really like to see your chain of thought that leads to such a conclusion.
"We" have come a long way but "we" have left Russian society far behind by any measure.
We should certainly be identifying all Russian citizens here as a precaution. As and if this war escalates, we may yet need to intern them, for their own and our safety.
So today alone we've had execute all Russian soldiers and intern all Russian citizens in Ireland.

The OP said to sanction African and other countries that were not sanctioning the Russians themselves. If you sanction every country not totally opposed to Russia you'll be sanctioning a lot of the world

Well they left themselves behind, we can manage without them. No doubt the iron curtain is well and truly down again.
We don't have to rely on them. Back in the 80''s and 70's the only thing I knew about Russia was they had harsh winter's, Rambo got them out of a part of Afghanistan, Rocky beat the Russian that killed Apollo Creed. Aeroflot refueled in Shannon Airport on their way to South America and they liked western clothes. They could wipe us out at the press of a button, that was it, and if it goes that way again I couldn't give a shite to be honest.
They aren't ready for integration into the western way of life. They tried but it just didn't work out and they fucked up with their invasion of Ukraine. They underestimated the courage and will of the Ukrainians. Maybe they'll come to a settlement, maybe it'll drag on for years.

You can't just execute soldiers, do you not understand that. Just because Russia doesn't respect international conventions it doesn't mean the west are going to do likewise. I don't think expelling Russians is a good idea either. Where does that stop? Should we start expelling Iranians because of what Iran is doing? What about Chinese because of what Xi is doing to the Uighur's? I know 2 Russians living here in Dundrum in my estate and both despise what is happening in Ukraine but you'd have them sent back to Moscow anyway?

I am reminded of Vladimir Gelfand who wrote about the "Rape of Berlin" which Russian denied and the West turned a blind eye to. To be fair the Americans were doing it too but not at the Russian levels.

Our Ukrainian brothers and sisters are happy out here. I made friends with a lad from the Ukraine and have seen him catch his first bass last weekend in Fanore. Nice lad, quite efficient with a bait caster. I even ordered one on Amazon I was so impressed.
He's staying in Lisdoonvarna, has a job here he's happy to be in the wesht and falling in love with our culture out wesht.
