Not too sure they are comparable examples, dude. Having a SF minister of justice getting access to highly confidential files on which provos were turned by SB in the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s would have far more dramatic consequences for the State.
If I was a “physical force Republican” from that era then I’d sure as hell like to know who was the senior Republican who spilled the beans on The Eksund being captured for example. Or if Freddie Stakeknife was the only member of the “Nutting Squad” who was a double agent.
If members of the self-proclaimed Óglaigh na hÉireann were to get into a position where their political wing had access to secret files often compiled by the legitimate Óglaigh na hÉireann then who knows what might happen? Would a SF minister of justice have to make a statement recognising the legitimacy of the Irish State, and what oversight exists to ensure their position as Minister of Justice wouldn’t be compromised if they refused to recognise it?
Throwing out some scenarios here.
I’m just spitballing here about the realities of a SF MoD and MoJ. Like what are the rules about even a young post-conflict SF TD being appointed to the position and requesting access to files relating to the infiltration of the Provos by the Gardaí and the intelligence gathering agencies of the Defence Forces?
Would they recognise the legitimacy of the Defence Forces and Justice Sector, or would they refer back to the supposed unbroken line between SF and the 1916 proclamation? That would create an immediate constitutional crisis.

It is surely an area of concern though. Sinn Fein are the political wing of the IRA, the IRA are/were enemies of the state. How does it work if their political wing is now the state?
The state obviously has files on the likes of dessie Ellis, his comrades, informers etc etc. What happens when dessie Ellis is at the cabinet table (hypothetically)?

It’s especially dangerous if these files are being taken of the state and into the hands of members of an illegal, terrorist, organisation. Potentially, that minister’s “higher ups”.

SF don’t recognise the legitimacy of any constitution past the one created in 1916. Even now they sit in the Dáil under a form of protest.
1986 was when they changed their tune.
That's a great idea, let's have a public inquiry into the allegations that Ross is making. I am sure that Mary-Lou and her husband will be very happy to present the evidence around the financing of their house.

If there is, be fantastic if the voters took a long hard look at their situation and vote for middle ground parties and move away from the extremes that are set of antagonising each other. The voters will have the power in their pens to move things on.

Can't see too many unionists continue the drift to allience after it called for joint-rule, the DUP have painted emselves into a corner over the protocol (in reality,they don't want a nationlist first minister) especially with SF likely to lead next government....
we could have a potential SF dublin government joint-rule with no input from unionists (an evil scenario,everyone deserves their voice heard in a democracy)

I love the almost naive idealistic simplistic view on this. For a start what about those who identify as Northern Irish? Plus I am not sure if you hear Patrick Keilty on Newstalk there a few days ago. He raised many practical issues. Would Unionists get a place in the Dail, would the Irish national flag change?
Then there is the anthem names of roads, names of GAA clubs and so on and so forth. The 'push on' narrative makes it all seem like everyone will think the same as you, there will be no divergence, anyone who dissents will be silenced, and in the end sure 'it will be grand lads'.
