So will def try to plug now! Would be much happier not taking wheel off- Location of nail bit awkward but will have jack, jack pads and plug kit to work with😉 plus excellent advice - for now and next occasion. Might be few days before repaired but fortunately can manage without. Will update and thanks all round.
How are you measuring that? If you are looking at the displayed range we will all see degradation at this time of the year as temps drop!!
Degradation that high would suggest you are exclusively DC charging (or the car has a defect), and even if you were id be still surprised to see it that high.
I am reading the 2.2% degradation from the Tessie app - Perhaps this is not accurate?
Just 1 DC charging sessions since I got the car (the day I collected in Dublin). AC charging at home after that.
Mike
Check it again next week. It will most likely be a different figure. They are not accurate.
Where does it tell you the battery degradation in the Tesla application?
It is tessie . A 3rd party app.
It doesn't...this was obtained through a third party app
It doesn’t in the Tesla app, but the user is using a 3rd party Tessie app..
Just to point out how can you know that app is accurate if it isn't from Tesla. Like Tesla could have blocked information from third parties.
edit: Sorry to quote you.
Tessie app is useless. The figures in there are totally fabricated based off very basic formulas. It has absolutely no insight into what is actually happening in your battery.
I don’t think many use the app for battery stats and the Tesla app doesn’t pretend otherwise.
It’s for control of your car and it’s features and I’d argue it’s the best app out there if any car manufacturer
*I understand your personal issues due to the buffer problem your experiencing on the M3 RWD but that’s doesn’t mean the app is useless.
I dunno all the stats in the app are based off a usable battery size of 60.5kWh so even with a lower buffer there is still a discrepancy in every single stat it spits out, from efficency to charging and so on.
The data of trips looks good and detailed etc. but it's complete nonsense.
Everything is based of formulas and the app has zero insight to what your battery is doing.
When I looked into it I cancelled my sub immediately. Its a wolf in sheep's clothing.
The new energy app in the vehicle itself gives a good insight into what's going on.
Also, contrary to what others mentioned here a while back > the trips screen "used energy" figure actually does include the likes of air con, screen, pre conditioning in its figures now too.
It was really noticable today when I was travelling to a supercharger at about 90kmh on the m1. Efficency was very poor and u could see the pre conditioning was causing it.
The only stuff not included is when the vehicle is in park.
Just an FYI.
What sub?
There's no sub for the app.
My opinion of the App is based on the controls, features etc, not stats as i think the only stats it gives is charging home V Work or other point?
To be honest, i don't monitor the stats, i charge and drive. If i needed to squeeze every km out of a car, i would have bought the base RWD or something with less performance as despite what the WLPT says, you can't drive the Performance Models to achieve that without being dead!
Yes that's correct now.
It used to be true until the recent update, hence why i don't post it anymore.
Pre-Conditioning.... :) i used to turn the Model S Ludicrous Plus on to pre heat the battery for charging :) :)
It was a misunderstanding. mc2022B2TF was referring to a 3rd party subscription app "Tessie" as opposed to the in car Tesla apps.
Makes more sense now.
I never bought those aftermarket apps as from day 1, they were always rumoured to be flawed as they were simply pulling the info available to the driver to use in their calculations which was never in depth enough to mean anything.
Yes that's what I mean 👍
scanmytesla has a good rep, I used it on my S but haven’t got around to getting the connector to use it on the 3 yet.
Yep. Haven't got it myself but it's the best source as it's a piece of hardware that can actually access real-time battery stats.
3rd party apps that do not use hardware are a bit of a scam imo
Also any thirdy party apps that require your Tesla credentials is effectively the digital equivilent of handing them your keys.
And if they ever have a data breach, your key will be available to the highest bidder locally.
They won't need a keycard, and they won't even need the/a phone to be paired to the car as a phone key!! all they do is log in to the Tesla app on any phone with your credentials, and remotely unlock & start the car.... bypassing Pin to Drive.
So yeah, 3rd party apps..... Thanks but No Thanks.
You would also risk invalidating your insurance in the event of damage or loss as a result of unauthorised access.
Heres the story of the guy who hacked Teslamate to gain access to M3s back in Jan.
Heres the actual account if you want to get all nerdy.
Whilst the probablity of this happening to one's self may be low, the consequence can be very high. It all comes down to one's own risk tolerence at the end of the day.
I had the rim repaired by a mechanic yesterday (wife took the curb) When I got home I noticed the tyre pressure on that wheel had dropped to 30PSI. Is there any way for me to check if they did that? they did take the tyre off to repair the Rim damage.
are you sure they even pumped it back up to 42psi when they put the tyre back on?
The Scanmytesla app is entirely different to Tessie or Teslamate. It is installed locally on an Android or ios device. It just analyses the car's can bus via a Bluetooth dongle and shows the data. There is a lot more displayed then is available on any screen in the car but nothing is uploaded to any third party location.
They probably didn't. I did it myself when I got home and noticed the error
Flat tyre update. After all helpful advice here(couldn't be depending on AA or sandyford) pucks for jack arrived today. No plugs arrived yet so took wheel off and brought it to kieran farrel tyres Galway. Free repair plug 5 mns and back on rd this evening-with correct torque! Fyi pic of offending flat headed screw. Will be prepared for next one I hope! Thanks to all
I hope you watched him plug it so you have an idea how to do it in future.
Small tip and it my]at seam silly but if you have any spare tyres fit for the bin, put a screw into it and so a practice run at home under no stress. That way the first time you need to do it won’t be on the side of the road at 10pm!
Anybody having any issues with the car alarm randomly going off.
Has happened to me twice in the last week. Car parked in my driveway inside a locked gate..
