The old shoot yourself in the foot strikes again.
Incredibly, Krasovsky has been fired by RT this evening. Hopefully this will serve as a warning to some of the other Kremlin TV propagandists. They appear to think they can say just about anything on live TV ("let's nuke the West", "let's starve Ukraine to death" etc) without there being any pushback or consequences.
I don't think anyone sane would wear a shirt like that.
You read reports written in Russian and you are insinuating the Ukrainians must be hiding something bad because they don't have the resources to babysit and protect journalists? Hmmm... Post count checks out too.
23 Oct: Russian Primary defence is collapsing
He doesn’t know where to run to 😂
A look at how Putin's Kremlin uses russian organised crime networks in Europe. And what if anything can be done to combat them. From drugs to prostitution to money laundering to political interference to cyber warfare.
From 2017.
The European Commission announced the "final separation" from gas from Russia, says European Commissioner for the Internal Market Thierry Breton
"Today we are completely separated from Russian gas... No one thought we could do it because we depended on Russia. We depended on 40%, and now - only by 7%," he said, recalling that at the beginning of a full-scale invasion, the achievement of the EU's energy independence from the Russian Federation was predicted until 2027.
Good, now keep it that way and keep their tourists out.
..
I would not allow any russians in without being heavily vetted if they have to go to tents that's on them. We really don't need 5th columns.
I wonder if this Will actually be true. Not much movement on that frontline for 3 week's now.
I presume he was captured/surrendered and that’s how the footage got out
Yes, there have been many confident predictions before, most have been wrong. Let's wait and see
Clearest sign yet that the occupation forces don't intend remaining in Kherson city long term.
Alina Lipp is not a journalist, at best I would describe as mentally ill. A quick google of her finds no published material by her outside youtube or facebook. She has never worked for a TV news station or published newspaper. She is widely described as a Russian propagandist and I would think that you would have to be a long way down a very delusional rabbit hole to find and quote someone who is obviously as bat **** crazy as she is.
In fact I saw you used the expression "Western media" earlier and thats a give away, do you seriously think western media is 1 entity? And do you seriously take the youtube rantings of loons like the 2 you mentioned above before, reuters, ABC, ALJazera, France24, Fox, Guardian, RTE, CNN, BBC, DW, all free media and competing with each other?
If you do then I suggest you are deliberately seeking out lies for you own purposes and agenda. You listen to and then repeat those lies.
That's some collection of weapons remains, and it's just what remains of what has been fired in one city alone, there's probably an equal amount never recovered I would guess:-
No translation but I assume these are being stored and documented as evidence of crimes/war crimes?
I am not convinced Kherson is the primary target for Ukraine right now. A lot of HIMARS are being used in other areas of the battlefield. The bridges/barges over the Dnipro seem to be under less attack compared to previously.
I wonder are the Ukrainians attempting to keep substantial Russian forces fixed while they attack else where?
That would be the smart thing to do. Russia are throwing everything at Bakhmut in the East. Taking huge losses. It's much more beneficial for Ukraine to hold that line and their newly gained territories in kharkiv/Luhansk.
I do think they need to gain more to get closer to the Dam. If that crossing gets within artillery range the Russians are in for a world of hurt.
The terrain around kherson is a vast flat expanse of farmland with no real terrain advantage. Russians can see any advance coming a long way, especially with UAVs - unless the Ukrainians get more drones or artillery pieces its very unlikely theyll take kherson. Throwing ground troops forward in kherson steppe is a true meatgrinder.
Unless they manage to sabotage both the antonovsky bridge, the pontoon bridge beneath it AND the Kakhovka dam to leave russians trapped on the western bank, its unlikely they can advance enough as things stand to threaten the city
"Hold 'em by the nose and kick them in the pants." as Patton would have put it. Or..."Don't hit them where they are, hit them where they aren't."
Russians look to be turning Kherson city into a military base in itself - evacuating all civilians who will agree to leave so the military can fortify the city, and so their very limited supply lines dont have to move as much food and other humanitarian aid. Less civilians, less mouths to feed.
They apparently don't intend on giving it up easily, which is strange since retreating east of the river would leave them with a much easier front to defend, and they can focus more on the Kharkiv/Donbass front. Perhaps they still have (naive) hopes of pushing on toward Nikolaev and Odessa, and dont want to lose their bridgehead over the Dnieper
More ammo I suppose-
Not to mention the massive amount of human trafficking from Africa into Europe over than last 20 years. Some organisation with it to that.
Then training will be crucial if it turns into urban combat
Been quite a few journalists killed in this war I think esp. in earlier weeks of it (actual journalists, not mouths for Russia/Putin).
To imply they have been doing nothing + not reporting properly on it is insulting in light of this, but what else would you expect?
The steady stream of Russians fleeing Kherson would suggest that they're not confident - not to mention the commander of the RU forces as much as saying that it's a lost cause in an interview last week. It's only a matter of time now. The big question is what will the Russians do in response? Every time that they have lost major territory to the Ukrainian army they have lashed out, spitefully, at civilian targets.
They have literally been doing exactly those things for months now. The Antonovsky bridge has not been destroyed but is full of holes and has been impassable for a long time by heavy vehicles. The small bridge adjacent to the dam (red arrow below) has been hit by HIMARs many times. The Russians have had to built replacement crossings of dubious conditions
That's how the Russians are in such a bad position on the North/West side of the river. They can still get supplies across the Dnipro via ferries and what's left of the bridges but nowhere near enough to supply their forces.
The Ukrainians tactics throughout their counter-offensive has been to try and take major settlements "into the pocket". They basically attempt to surround RU forces and cut them off. Up until now the Russians have then fled or surrendered. It's likely that that will be the plan for Kherson city too. Russian forces will still be able to escape via ferry and over the Antonovsky bridge. If they decided instead to fight to the last man in Kherson city...well that'll be a first for this conflict.
training people to storm a 3-bed semi is good for urban warfare in Ireland, less so Ukraine
Then why have they been reinforcing positions and moving more heavy equipment and men to the west bank?
Also they have a pontoon bridge now running the entire length of the antonovsky bridge, underneath it.
The Ukrainian offensive in Kherson has had some success, but at a huge cost. There is a serious terrain disadvantage to any attacker in such a flat treeless landscape. The push from current "gray zone" to Berislav is a very big ask. Several of their attempted advances involved trying to pound russian defences from artillery before pushing forward, but russian counter-battery pushed them back and put a stop to the Ukrainian barrages. Ukraine needs far more howitzers, artillery pieces and precision strike capabilities before they can advance in such terrain.
Either that or a zerg-rush soviet style, but the casualties would be enormous.
Apparently this guy has now been suspended. So we now know that there is a line...which apparently is calling for the execution of children - good to know.
